During his stay in the Mentawai Islands, Rob learnt the local language and immersed himself in the Mentawai’s everyday living. He also made a documentary film as part of a plan to assist the Mentawai in maintaining their culture. “The As Worlds Divide film is key to enabling the voice of Mentawai to be heard and in doing so to raise awareness and funding they need to achieve their goals.”

The experience galvanized Rob to form the Indigenous Education Foundation – a vehicle to empower community-based initiatives aimed at preventing long-term poverty amongst displaced Indigenous peoples, achieved through the development of educational programs built around the preservation and utilisation of their cultural knowledge, customs and local environment.

Very humbled and excited to be hosting Rob Henry and his film this coming Friday night in Warrnambool’s community Mozart Hall. It is a truly memorable and thought provoking experience! Limited tickets so book now to avoid disappointment.

We are extremely grateful to our dear friends Andrea Pitkethly, Chris Hosie and the team at Aurora Surf for inviting us to be part of the Saltwater Stories & Film in Warrnambool. 💛

This coming Friday, 20th February, we’ll be sharing As Worlds Divide, a film that shares the remarkable story of the Suku Mentawai and how our Indigenous Education Foundation found reason to exist. 🎬

Every ticket purchased goes directly towards supporting the Suku Mentawai cultural and ecological education program. This support helps keep knowledge alive, strengthens cultural identity, and supports future generations to walk proudly in who they are.✨

As you watch this poignant journey unfold, discovering the significance of Mentawai’s Indigenous cultural knowledge, you also make a meaningful contribution towards enabling their vision to be achieved and sustained. Please join us.
