On Monday, 20th October, we proudly celebrated our school based-based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) students at Assumption College with a special graduation presentation and morning tea.
This event recognised the dedication and achievements of our students Karine and Natalie both of which they competed a certificate 3 in individual support. Both girls have been accepted into university next year to continue their nursing study and careers.
We extend our congratulations to them both and look forward to watching them continue to grow within the industry. 🎉🎓

The race that stops the nation was in full swing today at Akooramak! Here is just a few photos of the Residents and staff that gathered for a fun-filled Melbourne Cup celebration, complete with colourful outfits, fancy hats, and plenty of cheer. Alongside watching the big race, we hosted our very own Akooramak Cup horse races, which had everyone laughing, cheering, and getting into the spirit of the day! From creative horse names to enthusiastic jockeys, it was a fantastic event enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who joined in and made the day such a wonderful celebration of fun, friendship, and community! 💐🏆🏇

🌼 Reflecting on Aged Care Employee Day 🌼

Yesterday, we celebrated Aged Care Employee Day—a moment to honour the incredible people who care for our elders with compassion, dignity, and dedication.

From nurses and carers to kitchen staff, cleaners, maintenance, lifestyle, bus drivers, compliance and education, management and admin teams—every role is vital. These professionals go above and beyond, often quietly, to ensure our older Australians feel safe, respected, and valued.

💬 "It’s not just what they do—it’s how they do it. With heart, patience, and unwavering kindness."

To all aged care employees: thank you for your tireless work and the difference you make in so many lives. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed, and your impact is immeasurable.

Let’s continue to show our appreciation—not just on one day, but every day.
