Muscle Monday!!
Time to talk iliotibial band (ITB)

The iliotibial band runs along the outside of the thigh, from the pelvis to the tibia, crossing both the hip and knee joints. I find most women usually find it a sensitive muscle. This muscle is released during every Bowen and massage treatment

Pain usually begins to manifest from the outside of the knee. It’s a common injury of runners, particularly long distance.

It can be caused by poor running form, bad shoes, weak hip muscles. Strengthening: Focusing on hip abductors, specifically the gluteus medius, to stabilise the hip.
