ADHD can impact focus, organisation, emotional regulation, and daily routines, but the right strategies and support can make a meaningful difference.

Simple practices like externalising tasks, setting clear boundaries, and recognising small wins can help reduce overwhelm and build confidence over time. Developing tools for emotional regulation and self-compassion is also an important part of supporting long-term wellbeing.

If ADHD is affecting your day-to-day life, working with a psychologist can help you develop practical strategies tailored to you.

Please join us in welcoming Sarah to the team as our new Client Experience Officer 🤍

Sarah is passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment and ensuring every client feels genuinely valued and supported from the moment they walk through our doors.

Alongside her role with us, she’s currently studying Podiatry, building her knowledge of lower limb health and human movement as she moves into the final years of her degree. She’s eager to gain further experience in an allied health setting, learn from the wide variety of cases we see, and support both our clients and clinicians in any way she can.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find her staying active; whether that’s long walks with her dog, playing netball, or spending quality time with family and friends.

We’re so excited to have you on board, Sarah. Welcome to the team!

“I just need to feel more motivated!”

It’s something most of us think at some point. But psychologically, motivation often follows action, not the other way around.

When we take a small step, the brain registers progress. That progress creates a reward response, which makes it easier to take the next step. Momentum builds, and motivation grows from there.

The key is lowering the entry point.

Instead of “finish the report,” try “open the document.”
Instead of “do a full workout,” try “put your shoes on.”

Small, manageable actions reduce resistance and create forward movement.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, it may not be a lack of motivation, it may just be that the first step feels too big.

What’s one small action you could take today?

Last week we celebrated 9 years of Proactive Health and Movement 🎉

Nine years of supporting our community through physiotherapy, podiatry, and psychology, and of building a space centred on care, trust, and connection. It’s been so special to take a moment to reflect, celebrate together, and acknowledge how far we’ve come.

To everyone who’s been part of the journey; our clients, team members (past and present), and wider community, thank you for being part of what makes Proactive Health and Movement what it is.

Here’s to 9 years 💙

Our Story

There is a better way of delivering health care.

Daniel Monteleone, Founder of Proactive Health & Movement, found himself searching for a better way after some significant injuries delivered firsthand experience of limited function, chronic pain and what is was like to ‘be the client’ rather than the treating practitioner.

Despite being a practitioner himself, he was unsure of how to improve his own health and function, and so began a long and expensive process with many practitioners but very little result. Eventually, after an exhausting process coordinating communication and results from many practices and practitioners, Daniel was able to move again at a high level, and live the life he wanted again – pain free.

Although now confident about the future after a physically and mentally challenging time, Daniel was frustrated at the amount of resources it took for him to get his life back together. This experience galvanised Daniel to develop his practitioner education, his skillset and ultimately, attain a passionate interest in chronic pain and movement therapy. Daniel wanted to provide the community with a trusted collaboration of practitioners who offer the highest level of physical and psychological, interdisciplinary care and practitioner communication.
