What does the Brooks Glycerin Flex feel like to run in?

The forefoot of the Glycerin Flex is, as the name suggests, very flexible. Its actually quite stable when you land, due to the large piece of midsole on the inside of the heel that is one continuous piece, but once you get up onto the ball of the foot for propulsion, the flex grooves in the midsole allow you to move onto your forefoot quite easily.
I've found this makes a great shoe for short up tempo sessions, and hill repeats, where you are getting up onto the ball of your foot quickly.

Severs disease sounds a lot worse than it actually is, hence why we prefer to use the term calcaneal apophysitis.
Why is it named that way? Of course, it’s named after the person who first described the condition back in 1912.
What is actually happening? Pulling and inflammation on the heel growth plate, often linked with an increase in activity, combined with growth spurts in children

Heel pain usually isn’t caused by one single thing.
Your plantar fascia deals with two main types of load every day:
pressure (compression) and pulling forces (tension).

Think of your foot being the bucket, and the load being the water. If we get too much water in our bucket from tension, compression or both, then we've exceeded the capacity of our foot, hence developing pain.

The good news?
Tolerance can be rebuilt with the right progression, not just rest or stretching alone.
Understanding what kind of load irritates your heel helps guide our treatment journey
