GC House is a Gold Coast based initiative providing safe housing and structured support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people relocating from remote communities to access education.

This video shares part of the story behind why GC House exists, including the connection to families in Camooweal and the importance of giving young people the opportunity to attend school in a stable, supportive environment while staying connected to home, culture and community.

Our first house will support a small group of boys as they attend local schools, build confidence and develop pathways into the future.

We are currently building a network of supporters and foundation partners to help grow this model and support more young people over time.

Always Foods vs Sometimes Foods: Our Family’s Guide to Eating and Treating Ourselves
Unpopular opinion: There’s no “good” and “bad” food.
There’s food that helps build your body, strengthen your muscles and bones, provide healthy
fats for your nervous system, give you the lubrication you need to move around and play a good
game of footie, give you the energy you need to think and THRIVE. 🍀
Now, those are our ALWAYS FOODS. ❤️ The staples on our tables.
Then, there’s the KFCs and the Macca’s and the processed chicken nuggets and chips—
there’s the food that gives you an energy spike, the food that’s introduced into teen culture, the
fast food meals they bond over and buy whenever they get their hands on some money. And
that’s okay, too.
But those are SOMETIMES FOODS. These aren’t everyday items in our home— they’re the
occasional treat, because they have CONSEQUENCES for our system, our digestion, our
overall health.
Reframing our foods in this way has helped our kids understand the balances and the benefits
of everyday meals. ❤️
And this is how we know that the language around how we refer to foods, matters. This is how
we create conversations that take the charge out of foods. And you can, too. ❤️

End of term vibes: just checking everyone’s ok out there??
Well, I’m not sure about you guys, but our family are done. I’m not sure who designed 10 week
terms, but it’s too long.
With 7 boys in our care, we have one child suspended, one with a virus, one with a busted toe
and one with a broken wrist, its been real, and some days I feel like Im running a hospital.
😖😖😖

These are 5 ways I’m committing to my freedom right now.

There’s a huge amount of noise, negativity and lack of energy circulating right now— and it’s bothering me. Mainly because it’s a very small picture, when we zoom out on what's happening it’s a huge RESET button being hit on humanity, and it’s actually really exciting me, because there are so many systems, my full disruptor energy would like to BLOW UP right now! 💥

Education, banks, political parties, food and pharma industries— we have been doing things so
unconsciously for SO LONG. However, my intuition tells me it’s shifting, resetting, changing, upgrading, and this 👆 is what

I’m doing to keep my energy clean and free.
