☀️ Fete Fundraiser & Open Day Success ☀️

What an incredible day! Over 1,000 people came through our gates on Saturday, 25th October for our Maranatha House Fete Fundraiser and Open Day - and what a turnout it was!

The day was packed with fun and community spirit, featuring the Rotary Markets, Wellington Vintage Car Club, raffles, P.C.Y.C Gymnastics, Tug of War, a Lego Stand, the Wellington Town Band, and so much more. Visitors also enjoyed guided tours, free food, and a range of activities and treats at Maranatha Gunyah - including a jumping castle, snow cones, soft serve, slushies, and fairy floss (all for free!).

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along, supported, volunteered, and helped raise funds for the Wellington High School students heading to Nepal with RAWC’s “Teens on a Mission”. 💛

Bus Trip to Dubbo Western Plains Cultural Centre 🚌

Today our residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to the Dubbo Western Plains Cultural Centre to explore the Waste 2 Art exhibition. This annual community event celebrates creativity and sustainability, showcasing imaginative artworks made from reused and recyclable materials. This year’s theme, “The Year of Toys,” inspired incredible pieces crafted from items that might have otherwise been thrown away, such as puzzle pieces and match box cars - a perfect reminder to reduce, reuse, and recycle! ♻️

Thank you Western Plains Cultural Centre for having us! 🤍

Royal Flying Doctor Service ✈️

On Monday, 13th of October, our residents enjoyed a wonderful bus trip to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Visitor Experience in Dubbo. We were fortunate to have a knowledgeable guide lead us through the centre, explaining each interactive display and offering assistance along the way. One of the highlights was watching the live flight tracker, which showed where the Royal Flying Doctor Service planes were flying across Australia in real time - a truly fascinating experience that our residents thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia for having us! 🩵

Maranatha House Monthly Newsletter
October Issue 🪴

October was one very busy month for our Maranatha House residents. Our residents had many wonderful local bus trips throughout Wellington including to St Mary’s Catholic School to watch/listen to their musical ‘Moana’, to the Wellington Men’s Shed, to Mallee Hen’s Nest Café, and more.

Maranatha House also had a number of special guests attend the facility including the ACE to assist our residents with the referendum voting, Wellington Barnardos children, St Mary’s Catholic School children, and our volunteers who offer hand and nail care.

In October Maranatha House held their Annual General Meeting, if you were unable to attend the meeting and would like a copy of the report, please see the staff in Admin.

Maranatha House was also a part of a wonderful family reunion between a resident Robert Martin (Marto) and his long-lost half-sister Heather Williams, to read more about this wonderful story, please see pages 6, 7, and 8.

Thank you again for the wonderful support on the newsletters.

Have a lovely afternoon and happy reading! 🪴

Maranatha House Monthly Newsletter September Issue 🪻

Maranatha House Residents have been taking advantage of the warmer weather this September by going on walks around the facility and to the local sports park, this group is called the Silver Sneakers.
The Silver Sneakers have been able to go on their walking group this month with personalised Maranatha House hats, which they very much enjoyed receiving.

During September, the residents of Maranatha House participated in a variety of community activities, including the Wellington Community NAIDOC event, lunch at the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club and the Grand Hotel, a visit to Comobella Hall, and a trip to the Wellington Caves. We were delighted to welcome several visitors throughout the month, including the students from St Mary’s Catholic School, Jaysen and Sue, as well as Barry, Debbie, and Mick for happy hour. Our dedicated volunteers also provided hand and nail care for our residents, and we were grateful to have Len and Cath visit for Gospel.

Thank you to all our wonderful visitors, our residents love seeing new and old faces around the facility.

Please keep a lookout for upcoming Resident Christmas Party information in later Newsletters!

Have a wonderful day and happy readying!
