John Gardiner is an endorsed clinical psychologist with over thirty years’ experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families in Western Australia. The range of services provided includes:
• Pediatric Psychology – which addresses the psychological aspects of illness, injury, and the promotion of health behaviors in children, adolescents, and families.
• Developmental Disorders – this includes learning disorders, attention problems and other concerns regarding infants and young children’s development.
• Psychological Conditions – where people who are having difficulty controlling their emotions, thinking and behaviour, including those with mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. While no referral is required attend, Better Access for Mental Health enables adults and children to access psychological services and gain a rebate from Medicare. To receive a Medicare rebate an individual must be referred by a GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist. If referred by a GP this referral involves the preparation of a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan in an appointment with the GP. If referred by a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist a referral letter is all that is required to access rebates. Fees are subject to Health Insurance rebates and may be eligible for Medicare under the Chronic Disease Management program (with GP referral) or Better Start for Children with a Disability initiative.
