Did you know, in 2026 (for the first time in history) the median life expectancy for a person born with cystic fibrosis today have a predicted life expectancy of 65 years! This is in marked contrast with the expectancy in the 1980’s being 30 years old! We’ve come so far but there is still so much to do to alleviate the daily burden of cystic fibrosis and May is an important month in highlighting these ongoing issues!

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month! This years theme is ‘Bridge the Care Gap’ which seeks to highlight the work needed to be done to address the disparity in care for those with Parkinson’s disease by encouraging early diagnosis, improving access to healthcare providers and building a future where no faces Parkinson’s disease alone.

Happy Developmental Disability Month! This year’s theme is ‘We’re Here: Then, Now, Always.’ which is a call to reflect on how far the community has come and why continued efforts in advocacy are important for continued change!

Happy International Women’s Day 2026! A day to celebrate all women everywhere and to especially highlight the bigger gap some marginalised women experience when trying to access equality. This is especially true for woman of colour and disabled woman! Let’s work harder to break down barriers and support all women to rise!

Today is World Cerebral Palsy day, a day when we raise awareness for the 17 million people world wide who are diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This is an important day to advocate for the rights, promote understanding and push for better inclusion for those with the condition.
