Girl. You’re not “going crazy”

One of the hardest parts of being a therapist?

Having the most interesting, funny, genuinely great individuals... and knowing the relationship has to stay in this room, with these boundaries, for a reason.

Because what matters most is you having a space that is completely, entirely about you.

Not how I’m feeling or whether I like you or
you wondering if you are doing or saying the right thing.

This the one place where you don’t have to manage anyone else.
Where you can fall apart.
Say the messy thing.
Cry without apologizing.
Or sit in silence without filling it.

I hold the boundaries so you don’t have to.
That’s the work.

And yes, sometimes that means I don’t get to say,
“we’d totally be friends.”
