I was shocked when the Minister attacked the journalist for no reason. Does the government really want the media to just report good stories?! We deserve better! Join The West Party , be heard, vote West
đź”´ When Leadership Talks About Themselves Instead of the West
This week, our local MP Melissa Horne was asked by The Age at the *WoMEDA Summit:
👉 “What does success in the West look like?”
Her answer?
🗣️ “Unbiased journalism.”
At an event about women’s leadership, growth, and opportunity in Melbourne’s West - one of the fastest-growing and most under-resourced regions in Victoria - our local Minister used her platform to talk about the media.
• Not jobs.
• Not transport.
• Not housing, safety, or infrastructure.
That’s the mindset representing us.
While she talks about controlling the message, our community is still being ignored.
We’ve said it again and again — we want better, safer decisions for Newport and Williamstown.
We don’t need PR.
We need leadership that listens.
Leadership that fights for safer roads, cleaner air, and real access between our suburbs, not soundbites and photo ops.
Thank you to The Age and Sophie Aubrey, and other outlets for doing what real journalism should: shining a light on what matters when our leaders won’t.
