🩵Pretty simple care idea: make dressing easier for every size.

Did you know that Sestra open-back care shirts are available in larger sizes?
Designed here in Adelaide, these shirts are helping bariatric patients feel comfortable and cared for in hospitals and aged care settings.

We’ve seen how difficult it can be when standard gowns don’t fit — carers often have to use two gowns to protect a patient’s dignity. Our open-back shirts make dressing easier, safer, and more comfortable for everyone involved.

🩵 Because care should be practical, simple, and always respectful.

Why Measuring Matters When Buying Clothing for Care?

Buying clothing for someone in care isn’t as simple as choosing a size off the rack — every person and brand is different. Taking the right body measurements helps ensure that clothing fits comfortably and supports both dignity and ease of care.

Here’s why it’s worth doing:
āœ… Each manufacturer uses different sizing
āœ… Clothing that’s too small can be painful or hard to move in
āœ… Clothing that’s too big can look baggy and be unsafe
āœ… A person’s size can change — recheck measurements every 6 months

We’ve made it easy! Download our Body Measurement Guideline Chart to help you get it right.

šŸ’ŒA Pretty Simple Idea: Rethink Clothing in Care.
For someone in aged care, the hospital, or recovering at home, dressing isn’t just a routine task.
It can affect:
āœ” How comfortable they feel all day
āœ” Their ability to participate in self-care
āœ” The time and strain it takes for a caregiver to help them
āœ” Make them feel more secure and positive
Choose soft, practical, and easy-to-wear clothing—sometimes adaptive care clothing, sometimes just thoughtful choices from local stores. Either way, clothing should support comfort, independence, and dignity.

āœ” Safe and non-toxic for everyday use

šŸ‘• Pretty Simple Care Ideas:

šŸ’ŒWhy Clothing in Care Matters More Than We Think

When caring for someone who is bedbound or has limited mobility—either long term or just for a short time—clothing becomes more than just a daily task. It becomes about comfort, safety, dignity, and ease—for both the individual and the carer.

Sestra Care adaptive shirts are specifically designed for people who can’t wear standard clothing from general stores. These shirts are soft, breathable, open-back for easier dressing, and made with textiles suitable for industrial laundry—because practicality matters in care settings.

Many families and carers are challenged to find the right clothing for their loved ones, so I also share simple tips like:
āœ”ļø How to measure someone for the right fit
āœ”ļø What to look for in care-appropriate fabrics
āœ”ļø Why some styles just aren’t safe or comfortable in a care environment

I write these posts for anyone caring for a loved one at home or in aged care—because I know from experience that the dignity and relief the right clothing brings is often overlooked, but deeply needed.

šŸ”¹If you’re a care professional, a family member, or even just someone looking to improve comfort for an ageing parent or patient—this is for you.
