The Healthy Environs team wrapped up 2025 with a professional development day followed by a Christmas dinner – bringing together our Adelaide crew and our Roxby Downs Community Hub team for some much-needed connection, celebration and laughs.

We feel incredibly grateful for the clients, partners and communities we’ve worked with this year. From local government projects to community wellbeing initiatives, every collaboration has meant something to us.

This week our team came together for a focused SWOT workshop to take a clear-eyed look at our strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats. Sessions like these keep us sharp, accountable and aligned with what matters most: delivering real, practical value to our clients in building resilient communities together.

By challenging our assumptions, surfacing blind spots and identifying emerging areas where Healthy Environs can lead, we’re strengthening our ability to support councils, government agencies and organisations navigating a rapidly changing public health, planning and community wellbeing landscape.

These conversations ensure we stay:

-𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗱 in how we design and deliver our work
-𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 in spotting new opportunities for prevention, policy integration and community impact
-𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 as expectations shift across public health, environment, development and community wellbeing
-𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 in building capability that genuinely helps our partners solve their toughest challenges

Today, as we commemorate the 107th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended the First World War, we pause to remember and honour all who served – and those who continue to serve – in defence of our freedom and way of life.

Their courage, sacrifice and sense of duty remind us of what it means to look out for one another, and of the importance of connection in building strong, caring, resilient communities – values that continue to guide our work every day.

At 11am, we will observe one minute’s silence to reflect and remember all who have served.

Lest we forget.

This week Healthy Environs Shine Blue with River's Gift 💙🩵. River's Gift is Australia's leading SIDS research funding charity. Funds raised will help to further develop the SIDS biobank resource and drive genetic research at the University of South Australia.

Congratulations to Roxby Council and the local community Multicultural Forum on this year's World Food and Music Festival. We were pleased to join other businesses in sponsoring this event. Celebrating cultures fosters a sense of belonging and unity and enriches communities. Events like these are great for promoting healthy and supportive communities for everyone. Well done to all of the local organisations and volunteers involved!

Harmony Week, held from 17 – 23 March, celebrates Australia's diversity. Today, the Roxby Downs Community Hub (a partnership between BHP and Healthy Environs) marked the occasion. In 2021, 13.2% of Roxby Downs residents were born overseas, compared to 11.6% in Regional SA. Harmony Week is an opportunity to learn about and share different traditions, bringing together diverse backgrounds.
