🎗 Breast cancer scans save lives, but they remain critically underfunded.
In recognition of International Day of Radiology, Castlereagh Imaging is supporting ADIA’s national awareness campaign, drawing attention to the growing funding gap affecting vital breast cancer scans.

Services such as breast ultrasound, 2D mammography, and 3D mammography play a crucial role in early detection, but patients often incur significant out-of-pocket costs.

➡️ Medicare rebates have increased by less than $1 per year since 1998
➡️ Bulk billing rates are as low as 32% for some services
➡️ Patients can pay $100+ per scan, even for essential imaging

These costs exist because rebates are so low, it’s often not financially viable for practices to bulk bill while maintaining the level of care patients expect and deserve.
