🖥️ What to Expect During a CT Scan
If you have a CT scan booked, knowing what to expect can help you feel more at ease on the day.

A CT scan is a quick and painless imaging test that takes detailed pictures of the inside of your body using X ray technology.
🔹 The scan itself usually takes just a few minutes
🔹 You will lie comfortably on a table that moves through the scanner
🔹 You may be asked to stay still or hold your breath briefly
🔹 In some cases, contrast may be used to help highlight certain areas

The National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) is now available, supporting the early detection of lung cancer for people at higher risk, often before symptoms appear.

If you are aged 50 to 70 and have a history of smoking, you may be eligible for a low-dose CT scan at no cost through this national program.
