Walking is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. Just 30 minutes every day can increase cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle power and endurance.

It can also reduce your risk of developing conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and some cancers.

Unlike some other forms of exercise, walking is free and doesn’t require any special equipment or training.

Physical activity does not have to be vigorous or done for long periods in order to improve your health.

Small changes, big results! Get moving today🚶😀

Every minute counts! Stroke affects 1 in 4 people globally and is the second leading cause of death worldwide. But here's the good news - up to 80% of strokes are preventable!

How do you know if someone is having a stroke? Think… F.A.S.T.
The Stroke Foundation recommends the F.A.S.T. test as an easy way to remember the most common signs of stroke. Using the F.A.S.T. test involves asking these simple questions:
* Face Check their face. Has their mouth drooped?
* Arms Can they lift both arms?
* Speech Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?
* Time Is critical. If you see any of these signs call 000 straight away.

While you are waiting for the ambulance to arrive:

If the person is conscious, lay them down on their side with their head slightly raised and supported.
Do not give them anything to eat or drink.
Loosen any restrictive clothing that could cause breathing difficulties.
If weakness is obvious in any limb, support it and avoid pulling on it when moving the person.
If they are unconscious, check their breathing and pulse and put them on their side. If they do not have a pulse or are not breathing, start CPR straight away.
If you are unsure how to perform CPR, the ambulance call taker will give instructions over the phone.

The National Cervical Screening Program reduces illness and death from cervical cancer. Women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 74 years of age are invited to have a Cervical Screening Test every 5 years through their healthcare.

If you are eligible for a Cervical Screening Test, you have the choice to either:
collect your own sample using a simple swab (self-collection)

Or

have one of our female healthcare providers to collect a sample.

Talk to your doctor, nurse or health worker about which option is best for you.
