Move Like Water — Root Like a Mountain🌊🏔️

Tai Chi is often described as moving meditation — but its real power lies deeper. It is the art of aligning your body with Heaven above, Earth below, and the four directions around you.

Below is a simple introductory sequence you can practice at home, based on Tai Chi Chi Kung I — Yang Short Form taught by Grandmaster Mantak Chia.

⭐️ Wu Chi Stance — Facing North
⠀
Begin in the unmanifested state: feet close, knees soft, spine rising gently upward as the coccyx sinks. Feel the Earth through your soles and the Heavenly pull through your crown.
Breathe into the Lower Tan Tien and let the mind settle🌀

⭐️ Step Out — Enter the World
Shift weight to the right, step out to shoulder-width with the left foot. Your structure becomes the bridge between Heaven and Earth.

⭐️ Raise the Arms — Draw Chi Up
⠀
As you inhale, let the arms float to shoulder height, lifted internally by the scapulae. Feel energy rising through the legs, spine, and fingers🫳🏻

⭐️ Two-Hand Push — Open to the North
⠀
Exhale as palms turn🫴🏻 forward. Offer your energy to the North — direction of stillness and the Water element. The spine lengthens, the body softens.

⭐️ Lower the Arms — Return to Center
⠀
Arms sink as if moving through warm water. Energy resets, preparing you to turn through the four directions: North → West → South → East.
⠀
🙏🏻This simple sequence reconnects you to the classical Tai Chi structure — rooting the body, opening the meridians, and entering the flow.

ABUELAS PIEDRAS

Se dice que las piedras volcánicas son nuestras abuelas. Ellas han estado aquí desde el principio de los tiempos, testigos silenciosas de la evolución de la Tierra. Son guardianas de sabiduría antigua y portadoras de la memoria ancestral, pues emergen desde las profundidades del corazón de la Madre Tierra.

En el temazcal, algunas tradiciones nos enseñan a hablarles, a compartir con ellas nuestras cargas, dolores y peticiones. A través del fuego sagrado, estas abuelas se encienden y son colocadas en el centro del temazcal: el ombligo, el corazón del útero de piedra.

Pero no caminan solas en esta medicina. El fuego —el gran transformador— las despierta. El agua —la gran dadora de vida— las abraza y, al tocar su calor, se convierte en v***r. Es este v***r el que nos envuelve, nos limpia, nos hace fluir y eleva nuestros rezos al cielo.

Tierra es mi cuerpo,
Agua mi sangre,
Aire mi aliento,
Fuego mi espíritu.

Los cuatro elementos se hacen presentes en el temazcal, recordándonos nuestros cuatro cuerpos: físico, emocional, mental y espiritual. Así, en este espacio sagrado, regresamos al origen, al calor del vientre de la Tierra, a la medicina de nuestras abuelas piedras.
