Beat the bloat - save this post 😘
1. Drink at 1L water (not including coffee , tea -sorry)
2. Limit caffeine
3. Avoid constipation - are you getting enough fibre? Think fruits, veg, lentils
4. Exercise- it increases good gut flora but also feels good
5. Ditch alcohol - it disturbs gut flora and is full of empty calories - hello muffin top
6. Get to bed before 10pm -this will allow melatonin to aid in final digestion
7. Eat your last meal 3 hours before hitting the pillow
8. Swap Apples for Blueberries Raspberries, kiwis and mandarins
9. Swap onions and garlic for leeks and green part of shallots
10. Ditch the sugar
11. Reduce the stress - it interferes with digestion
12. Consume herbal teas like peppermint or ginger to debloat
Tried all of these?
Maybe it’s time to get a functional medicine test and get an answer as you may have something more sinister like a parasite or Candida overgrowth or food sensitivity?

Monday Mood UpBeats
Have you ever woken up feeling bloody awesome, clear headed , energised and then suddenly hit with a splitting headache, change in mood and a bit anxious?
It might be the ‘unknown’ food additives you are consuming that is killing the good mood vibes.
One culprit might be Monosodium Glutamate 621 or aka MSG.
Whilst some say this is a flavour enhancer , the reality it’s a synthetic chemical and classed as an excitotoxin!
This means it can over stimulate the brain and interfere with the way our neurotransmitters work. Symptoms may present as headaches, flushes, sleeplessness, mood changes and depression.
🤢Life science journal showed when rats were fed MSG their behaviours displayed depressive and anxiety states.
🤢High levels of excitotoxins have been linked to brain tumours, diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease , behavioural problems and Parkinson’s.
🤢2018 the Experiment and Clinical JOurnal published that small amounts of MSG found in both animals and humans presented to harmful.
Whilst once in a while its ok to eat processed foods it is better to reduce them as much as possible especially if you are prone to any mood /neurological related issues.

Hello My Wholesome Friends and Welcome to 2021!
What are you looking forward to in 2021?
I want to get back to committing to my health as a priority as 2020 impacted my health just a little -I was ok with this and just rolled with it given the circumstances.
In this post, the first pic you see, that’s me today with vitality.
I have taken so many steps to find my vitality and sparkle, BUT it wasn’t always like this, with courage and patience I made the changes necessary and so can YOU!
I want to share some pictures from about 10 years ago (early 30’s) -Im just being honest and real here. I didn't always live a healthy life but that's because I didn't know any better and was not educated about my body at all about the foods it needed, the lifestyle and spiritual awareness it required.
In these photos I want you to understand I was severely constipated (7 days straight) , bloated , puffed up , glazed, toxins riddled my body and I felt foggy , anxiety/ panic attacks would strike regularly, vitiligo, acne took over, spiritually and mentally I was out of whack!!! GEEZ I did not like being in my body at all ….you get the story , we all have them. SIMPLY my body was in pain and calling for SOS!
So off I went on this crazy 10 year health journey learning (and still learning) about my body and what makes it perform at its best. Through acceptance , patience, forgiveness , resistance, transformations, mental/physical/spiritual healing, etc it helped me to get to a state of harmony in my body and it was well worth it.
Do you need a health coach …I'm your calling right NOW.

THYROID THURSDAY
Raised antibodies? Have you been told you have a thyroid problem like hashimoto’s or graves and the antibodies are the cause because the immune system is attacking the thyroid gland?
How about if I told you whilst antibodies can influence the behaviour of the thyroid hormones , the antibodies aren’t the cause of the end result such as Hashimoto’s or Graves. It’s a foreign invader that the body has not been able to rid hence the increase in antibodies to try and protect it.
Antibodies are made by the body in response to a foreign invader such as toxin, virus, bacteria , parasite , chemical or food sensitivity to rid it out of the body and reduce infection and inflammation.
That’s why when patients go on medications for thyroid they might initially feel better but then only to return feeling the same or worst because they haven’t addressed what is causing the release of antibodies.
Antibodies =inflammation, which is why you might experience other symptoms such as fatigue, sore joints, arthritis, fibromyalgia etc and continue increase a rampage of antibodies that then cause thyroid to become inflamed. The body is riddled with INFLAMMATION!!!!!!
What is the root cause of this inflammation ??
Why are the antibodies staying elevated ? These are the questions I explore with clients as we want to reduce the inflammation!
Here are some common causes that may cause antibodies to elevate:
Undetected Coeliac disease
Poor sleep
Stress and adrenal fatigue
Metal toxicity such as mercury
Viral infections
H pylori infection
Nutritional deficiencies
Radiation from phone
Alcohol and Ci******es
Food sensitivities
Do you want to explore your WHYs and WHATs?

Skinlicious Saturdays
Sore, itchy, painful skin…maybe it’s a case of eczema?!
Eczema can show up in many dermatitis forms: atopic, contact, seborrheic , stasis
Eczema shows up normally in infant to young children and will lessen in break out, however it can remain in adults as well.
Eczema can be caused by
Sensitivity to foods eg dairy and wheat
Poor gut health
Nutritional deficiencies
Chronic stress
Poor sleep
Exposure to chemicals such cleaning agents, creams, shampoos, soaps, medications
Obesity
Poor immunity
It is related to hay fever and asthma
Histamine influx
Some tips to help alleviate
Reduce white sugar and refined foods
Eat more greens
Get better rest
Try to eliminate common allergens such as dairy and wheat for a minimum of 4 weeks to see if inflammation reduces
Eat more oily fish such as salmon, mackerel , tuna
Swap cleaning agents for sensitive , hypoallergenic and that have no nasty’s such as ammonia, chlorine, phosphates
Get a food sensitivity test eliminate foods that cause inflammation
Get a gut test to heal your gut
Once you start working on these tips …your eczema can disappear for good!
DM me if you want to talk more about controlling that inflammation and have beautiful calm skin.

What can a neurotransmitters test do for you?
Neurotransmitters are special chemicals that help relay messages along nerves amongst the organs such the brain , digestive tract, brain, essentially it helps communication happen in the body.
Try and think how important it is for us to communicate to our family, friends, work colleagues or even using our phones eg the words we choose impact the end result. Even whilst driving a car there is a form of traffic communication (road rules) without these -it would be chaos. HONK HONK
Bad communication = Unhappy result
Good communication=Happy result
Our neurotransmitters move around in the blood and are filtered through the kidneys and excreted in our urine and this makes a urine collection easy for analysis.
Neurotransmitters include dopamine , GABA, Glutamate, Serotonin, PEA, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine
This test is fantastic for anyone who experiences anxiety, mood disorders (Bipolar, Schizophrenia etc), depression, highly adrenal, insomnia , ADHD, Migraines, fibromyalgia, brain fog, multiple sclerosis, addictions.
The test can be useful for when we get older as a precautionary measure to see if we are at risk of degenerative disorders like Parkisons which is related to dopamine levels which control of body movement. Getting in early might be the key to reducing your chances of Parkinsons. Give me a hands up if this test sounds amazing 👏🏻🙌🏼👍🏼👌🏻
