Spring into summer sun safety!

As the weather warms up, tick off the 4 S’s to protect both your eyes and your skin every time you head out this summer:

✅ Sunnies – Choose sunglasses that block both UVA and UVB rays and meet the Australian and New Zealand standard for effective UV protection (category 3 and above).

✅ Sun hat – Don't forget to pack a hat! Wide-brimmed is best for added eye protection

✅ Shade – Seek shade when possible - especially during peak UV hours.

✅ Sunscreen – Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ or higher, as recommended by Australian standards.

Summer is almost here, and it’s time to make sure your eyes are protected while you enjoy the sunshine! Follow these essential tips to keep your vision sharp and your eyes healthy all season long:

😎 Not all sunglasses are created equal! Make sure yours have UV lens category 3 or higher to protect your eyes from harmful sun exposure.
☀️ Be mindful that dry eyes are more common in summer due to heat and air conditioning.
💦 Drink plenty of water to keep your eyes and body hydrated.
😎 Try polarised sunglasses which reduce glare from reflective surfaces like water and sand, helping you see more clearly and comfortably during outdoor activities.
☀️ Clean eyewear regularly to keep your vision sharp and clear.
🌞 Summer activities can lead to sweat and sand getting on your lenses, so always pack a lens cloth!
