Meet Andrew.

Andrew’s an active bloke who juggles full-time work as a surveyor, regular gym sessions, cycling, and being a dad to 4 kids! Around 6–8 months ago, after a PT session doing squats with his leg elevated he started with sore legs but then it got a bit worse on the left one.

There wasn’t a specific injury, just a dull ache that gradually crept in. Over time, that ache turned into sharp, stabbing pains that strike randomly when walking, standing, or even sitting. Recently, the pain became constant during walking, and Andrew developed a noticeable limp. Walking, climbing stairs, or even getting out of the car was setting it off.

When Andrew came to see us, we found signs of knee overload and irritation; nothing major, just the result of pushing through pain for a bit too long.

With some hands-on treatment, a targeted rehab plan, and guidance on how to load his knee safely, Andrew’s well on the way to recovery.

We’re stoked to help him get back to doing what he loves-cycling, skiing, and training pain-free.

Thanks for being a brilliant patient, Andrew – we’re thrilled to see how far you’ve come.

20yrs ago today was a very special occasion..Joe and Anna got hitched in Huddersfield, in the UK! The pic attached is of them spinning around the floor with their first dance to a tune called ‘All my life, I've been waiting for you’ by The Redstick Ramblers.

They’ve had an amazing journey together to get them to this point, have raised 4 beautiful kids, and created Optimum which has helped countless people in our community.

🌏✨ Good luck to Kylie! ✨🌏
We are so proud of Kylie, who has been part of the Optimum family for almost five years and is also an incredible Lawn Bowls player. She’s about to represent Australia in an international friendly against Scotland in preparation for the Commonwealth Games next year!
For those who don’t know, Scotland is steeped in Lawn Bowls history, playing for nearly a thousand years and ranking among the best in the world. It’s going to be a huge challenge, but if anyone’s ready for it, it’s Kylie!
We had a friendly Scottish themed pub quiz ..Kylie was the clear winner and only she knew that marmalade was the topping of choice for Scottish people eating toast in a morning!
From all of us here at Optimum, we wish you the very best on your trip. Just don’t go eating any more corks off your hat 🧢😉 … and make sure that laminated celebration poster comes along for the ride!

Sijie – Siddal Rugby League (Joe’s old rugby league club from Halifax W.Yorks)
Josh – Brian Boru Club (Joe’s old Irish music club – Ashton in Makerfield, Lancashire)
Kylie – Port Adelaide
Jess and Liv – Carlton
Joe – in his favourite Parramatta Eels gold and blue

💪 Client Spotlight: Les’s Shoulder Journey 💪

A few months ago, Les underwent a rotator cuff and biceps repair with Greg Hoy in Melbourne. This wasn’t his first time — he’d had the same surgery on his other shoulder a few years back. The difference this time? Remarkable. 🙌

Compared to his previous recovery, Les noticed far less pain, more movement, and a much quicker return to function. With a structured rehab plan, patience, and consistent effort, he’s made outstanding progress and has now been successfully discharged.

Yesterday Joe and Anna were so fortunate to attend Sandhya & Rupen’s wedding 💍✨

It was a traditional Hindu ceremony with their Nepalese community in Canberra, and what a truly special occasion it was. The colours of the saris, suits, and decorations were absolutely breathtaking 🌸💛❤️. The air was filled with the scent of incense, flowers, and spices from the feast being prepared, which added to the magic of the day. They both looked absolutely stunning.

The rituals were fascinating to watch, full of meaning, tradition, and symbolism that brought both families together in such a beautiful way. The music was excellent and everyone was on the floor dancing 🎶. The food was delicious 🍲, and the whole atmosphere was buzzing, despite it starting at 8am!!

It was a huge privilege to be there; to share in the celebration but also to learn more about the rich culture and traditions behind the day.

Wishing Sandhya and Rupen all the love and happiness from Optimum as they begin this next chapter of their lives together. ❤️🥂🌸

For years, Joe's friends and family have been asking 'what size chest are your pants?' - well now it's official, high waisted trousers are genetic! Ailish decided to dress up as Joe for her final Yr12 Assembly with Optimum shirt, high denim shorts, odd socks and trainers..she got a lot of weird looks from her mates but now she knows what her dad feels like every day!!
