🫁 Not Eligible for the Lung Screening Program? There’s Another Option.

Many patients assume lung CT is only available through the National Lung Screening Program — but that’s not the case.

With a GP referral, a low-dose lung CT can be performed as a bulk billed CT chest for Medicare-eligible patients.

It uses the same low-dose technique — the difference is simply the funding pathway and clinical indication.

This pathway may be useful for patients who fall outside the program criteria but need imaging due to:
✔ symptoms
✔ risk factors
✔ medical history
✔ or GP review

📍 Available at most Marina Radiology clinics

🩺 Speak to your GP about lung CT if clinically indicated.

☀️ Being SunSmart matters for your long-term health.

Australia’s UV levels are among the highest in the world, increasing the risk of skin damage and skin cancer. Simple steps like using SPF 30+ sunscreen, wearing protective clothing, seeking shade, and avoiding peak UV hours can make a real difference.

Looking after your skin today helps protect your health for years to come.

🧠 MRI Myth vs Fact

MYTH: You have to be fully enclosed to have an MRI.
FACT: Many MRI scans are performed with your head or feet outside the scanner, depending on the area being examined.

If you’re feeling nervous about an MRI, our team is here to guide you through the process and help make your scan as comfortable as possible.

Can I take my medication before my scan? 💊

In most cases, yes — even when fasting, regular medications can usually be taken with a small sip of water.

For some scans or procedures, specific preparation may be required. Our team will advise you over the phone when your appointment is booked, so you don’t need to guess.

Please don’t stop any medication unless you’ve been advised by our team or your doctor.
