🎗️ January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, thanks to HPV vaccination and regular cervical screening. Screening is now based on HPV testing and is recommended every five years for most women aged 25 to 74, even if you feel well.

January is a timely reminder to stay up to date with preventive health checks and speak with your healthcare provider if you’re unsure when your last screen was.

🫁 Not Eligible for the Lung Screening Program? There’s Another Option.

Many patients assume lung CT is only available through the National Lung Screening Program — but that’s not the case.

With a GP referral, a low-dose lung CT can be performed as a bulk billed CT chest for Medicare-eligible patients.

It uses the same low-dose technique — the difference is simply the funding pathway and clinical indication.

This pathway may be useful for patients who fall outside the program criteria but need imaging due to:
✔ symptoms
✔ risk factors
✔ medical history
✔ or GP review

📍 Available at most Marina Radiology clinics

🩺 Speak to your GP about lung CT if clinically indicated.

Bulk billing applies to eligible Medicare services.

☀️ Being SunSmart matters for your long-term health.

Australia’s UV levels are among the highest in the world, increasing the risk of skin damage and skin cancer. Simple steps like using SPF 30+ sunscreen, wearing protective clothing, seeking shade, and avoiding peak UV hours can make a real difference.

Looking after your skin today helps protect your health for years to come.
