CareWays has proudly delivered community support in the Illawarra for over 30 years, including:

AGED CARE IN HOME SUPPORT: supporting people to stay in their own home through services such as Personal Care, Domestic Assistance, Social Support, Respite Care and Meals on Wheels. COMMUNITY SERVICES – providing people of the Illawarra with support and early intervention programs. Including Youth Drop In programs, Food Support, Social Groups such as Craft, Patchwork, Painting and Computer Skills for Seniors and Events. Our second last OzHarvest pick up for the year is on tomorrow (Friday 12/12)!

3-4pm at Koonawarra Community Centre (36 Fowlers Road, Koonawarra) - one paper grocery bag per household.

This service is free - those from the 2530 postcode can pick up every 2 weeks and everyone else is once a month.

Please call us on 4261 8426 if you are unsure if you are 'due' to pick up or not.

Children will be able to use Lego to create, then program these creations to light up, make sound and move.
No need to book, just pop into our playgroups!

Services NSW have an Online shopping course that will assist you to learn how to shop online safely.

During the sales season, be aware of scams including fake shopping websites, dodgy posts and deals too good to be true.

Look out for these warning signs on the shopping sites you visit:
• prices much lower than anywhere else
• spelling mistakes and poor grammar
• no refund or return policy page
• vague or minimal contact information.

CareWays Community is a not for profit organisation supporting people in the local community

HOW WE DO THIS

We work towards a connected, caring and supportive community by providing: IN HOME SUPPORT: supports people in the community through programs including Meals on Wheels, Personal Care, Domestic Assistance, Social Support and Respite Care. YOUTH SERVICES – providing young people of Dapto, Horsley, Koonawarra and Thirroul access to support, early intervention and mentoring. The service also provides a drop in service, Breakfast program, Holiday Activities, Events and Excursions. NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRES: Dapto & Thirroul Neighbourhood Centres providing community support services that connects people to information and services that promote community capacity building, increased resilience and improved safety in the community. COMMUNITY SENSORY ROOM - run at the Horsley Community Centre, open to the general public - see www.careways.org.au for full details. ASSISTED SCHOOL TRANSPORT – the program provides students who have a disability, transport assistance under the Assisted School Travel Program. COMMUNITY CENTRES: Horsley Community Centre & Koonawarra Community Centre: CareWays manages the centres, including hiring of rooms to the community.
