H.Parsons Funeral Directors H.Parsons is your only locally owned and only family operated Funeral Director. Parsons is staffed by an exceptional team of 50 local employees.

Supporting our community for over 130 years

The Parsons family association with the Illawarra began on April 24, 1839 when Matthew and Puah Parsons arrived in Wollongong by horse and dray via Mount Keira Road. Today, Alan Parsons, Funeral Director, Managing Director and Chief Car Washer with Parsons Funerals follows in the business started by his great grandfather over 130 years ago. One of his greatest rewards today is to be joined in the business by his son Anthony, the fifth generation of Parsons Funeral Directors. "The horse and carriage have gone but the one constant we are dedicated to upholding is to remain a local Illawarra family owned and 100 per cent Australian owned and operated company," Alan said. Alan believes that doing this ensures they can continue the family legacy in contributing to and supporting the economy, growth and stability of our beautiful Illawarra.

Valentine’s Day is a reminder that love doesn’t end. 🤍

For some, today is filled with flowers and celebrations.
For others, it’s a quiet day of remembering.

In our work, we see how powerful love truly is, the kind that lasts decades, the kind that shapes families, the kind that continues long after goodbye.

Always proud to show up for our community. 💙

Mac the miniature therapy horse brought so much joy to his recent visit at Warrigal Coniston 🐴💙

Being involved in these visits is always a highlight for us. Seeing the positive response from residents and staff and sharing it alongside our team makes it truly worthwhile.

Once again, a big thank you to Adorable Pony Parties for continuing to make these experiences possible. The care and happiness you bring into aged care communities never goes unnoticed.

Take a look through the album to see the special moments captured as Mac made his way through the centre, visiting residents in communal and private spaces, and brightening everyone’s day along the way.

Mac the miniature therapy horse trotted into Warrigal Wollongong Residential Care Home and into everyone's hearts 🐴💙

We're honoured to have sponsored this special visit, making it our fourth aged care visit with Adorable Pony Parties

The timing couldn't have been more perfect, as the visit coincided with Petronella's remarkable 100th birthday celebration 💙 It was truly touching to witness Mac spark laughter, smiles, and genuine moments of connection among residents and staff alike.

Thank you to Anthony, our General Manager, and Pete and Julianne from our team, who joined us on the day, spending quality time with residents and sharing meaningful conversations along the way.

We’re excited to keep supporting these heartwarming visits and to create even more special moments for aged care communities across the Illawarra.

Today marks the National Day of Mourning, as our country comes together to honour the victims and all those impacted by the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.

Guided by the theme chosen by the Chabad Community in Bondi “Light will win” we reflect in unity, remembrance, and compassion, standing alongside the families, communities, and all who continue to grieve.

All members of the public are encouraged to observe a minute’s silence at 7.01pm AEDT, and to leave a lit candle in their window or on their doorstep in solidarity of the Jewish community and in memory of those whose lives were taken.
