Empowering people to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Life isn’t always one thing or the other 🚫 most of the time, it’s a mix of both!
You can feel grounded one moment and uncertain the next.
You can care deeply while also needing space for yourself.
You can be doing your best and still have days that feel heavy.
We often think we need to have it all together before we can feel content, but being human means holding many feelings all at once.
You don’t need to be “just one thing.” You’re allowed to be a blend of it all, while learning, feeling and growing 💙

Did you know that checking in with yourself can be more powerful than you think? 🌤️
Ask yourself: “What best captures how I’m feeling right now?” and notice where you land on the scale. Whether it’s a stormy 0, a cloudy 5, or a bright 10, simply recognising your internal state is a meaningful step toward understanding and supporting your wellbeing.
Reflecting on your emotions helps you:
🔹 Tune into your needs
🔹 Respond with self-compassion
🔹 Notice patterns over time
🔹 Make small choices that support your mental and emotional health
Even a quick pause to check in with yourself can make a difference. How are you feeling today? 🌿

Opening up about what we’re going through can feel vulnerable, but it can also be incredibly freeing 🌼 When we’re met with empathy and understanding, we create space for connection, healing, and self-compassion.
Shayla brings this belief to life in her work as a registered psychologist, using a warm, person-centred approach to help clients feel safe and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.

“I’m fine.”
A phrase most of us use a little too often.. sometimes out of habit, sometimes to avoid taking up space.
💭 Sometimes it means “I don’t want to talk about it.”
💭 Sometimes it means “I’m just getting through the day.”
Though a friendly reminder: you deserve more than just feeling fine.
You deserve to feel supported, seen, and safe enough to be honest (with both others, and yourself) 💙

Behind every session is a team that truly cares 🌸
At WellMind Collective, collaboration is at the heart of what we do! Our psychologists regularly come together to share insights, reflect, and learn on another.
Therapy may look like a one-on-one conversation, but behind each session is shared knowledge, guidance, and support. And every discussion, idea, and reflection helps us bring thoughtful, connected care to the people who trust us with their wellbeing 🌿

Therapy can be a journey of healing and self-discovery, but sometimes it’s the small steps along the way that create the biggest shifts.
Moments where your perspective changes, you try something new, or see yourself with more kindness🌱
If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, it’s worth asking:
"What’s holding me back?"
Taking that first step can feel daunting, but it can also open the door to meaningful change 🤍

We often hear about “setting boundaries”, but did you know there are lots of different kinds?
Take a read above on the type of boundaries ☝🏽
They show up in all kinds of ways, shaping how we care for ourselves and connect with others. The more we understand them, the easier it is to protect our energy, respect our limits, and create healthier relationships.
Which type of boundary feels easiest for you to set, and which one’s a little trickier?

We live in a time where so much of what we see online is curated, filtered, or at times, unrealistic. Constant scrolling can make it easy to slip into comparisons and question how we measure up! Over time, this can shape how we see ourselves and how we feel in our own skin.
Remember, your body doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s to be worthy of care! Small, everyday choices (like moving in ways that feel good, resting when you need to, or simply speaking to yourself with a little more compassion) can make a difference 💙

It's not therapy, but it feels like therapy..
🌳 a walk in nature (with no headphones)
💤 taking time to rest, with no guilt
🩵 deep chats or laughs with a loved one
🎶 listening to music that calms you
..and the list goes on and on.
What's something you do that feels like therapy, but isn't?

Life is rarely without its challenges. There are some that can be so overwhelming that it seems impossible to move on. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, overwhelming feelings of anxiety or anything else causing you distress in your day-to-day life, it’s important you know that help is available for every problem life throws your way.
We all have a bit of a negative voice in our head from time to time. But if your negative self-talk is stopping you from doing what you want or need to do in your life then it’s not helping you and it has to go.
Your recurring problems will directly be related to your self-talk, beliefs and values. If you or a loved one are experiencing consistent problems or are just sick of the negative chatter, please fell welcome to get in touch.
Habits are the small decisions you make and actions you perform every day. Your life today is essentially the sum of your habits. What you consistently do ultimately forms the person you are, the things you believe, and the personality that you portray.
The problem is not the old ideas or habits, the problem is that we hold onto the belief that these old ways and attachments are holding life together and are the only way.
But what if… really think about it… what if there is another way, what if things could be different, what if you could do things differently, what if you could be happier?
We can teach you strategies and we can support you to work through the transition from your old ways to new ways.
