The festive season can bring both joy and stress, and how we care for our mental wellbeing matters. Support doesn’t always mean therapy 🤔 it can be noticing your emotions, giving yourself space to breathe, or setting boundaries with loved ones.
Acknowledging what feels heavy, talking things through, or simply giving yourself permission to pause are all ways to stay connected to yourself during this time. Taking small steps like these now can help you enter the new year feeling more grounded, understood, and supported 🪷
Your well-being matters… (even in the midst of holiday busyness)!

These feelings aren’t just “part of the season” 🚫 they’re signals from your mind and body that something needs attention. Noticing them is the first step in managing stress and maintaining balance.
Small, intentional actions (pausing to breathe, setting boundaries, or seeking support), can make a big difference 🧠✨
If this season feels heavier than usual, our team at WellMind Collective can help you navigate it with care and guidance. Reach out via email at admin@wellmindcollective.com.au to explore support tailored to you ✉️

Did you know that the way in which we respond to situations can offer insight into what we’re needing?
Whether it's feeling tense, pulling back, feeling agitated or anything else in between.
Noticing these responses can help us understand our patterns with more self-awareness and allow us to dive deep into what it is we're navigating 🔎
It’s not about changing how you “should” react, but recognising what your reactions might be communicating.

Feeling emotionally safe is something many of us don’t often think about, though it shows up with how we connect and communicate. Emotional safety isn’t about avoiding discomfort; it’s about feeling respected, understood, and able to be yourself without fear of judgement!
Sometimes (without realising it..), we may develop habits that help us feel emotionally safe in the moment, especially during stressful or uncertain periods.
Becoming aware of these behaviours and patterns can help us understand our ourselves with more insight 🧠

Noticing your feelings and understanding what you need is an important part of looking after your mental health. At WellMind Collective, our services are here to support you in navigating life’s challenges, understanding your emotions, and building the tools to live in alignment with what matters to you 🌏
You don’t have to figure it out alone 🙅🏼♀️ our psychologists provide a safe, safe space to explore what’s going on for you.
Life isn’t always one thing or the other 🚫 most of the time, it’s a mix of both!
You can feel grounded one moment and uncertain the next.
You can care deeply while also needing space for yourself.
You can be doing your best and still have days that feel heavy.
We often think we need to have it all together before we can feel content, but being human means holding many feelings all at once.
You don’t need to be “just one thing.” You’re allowed to be a blend of it all, while learning, feeling and growing 💙

Did you know that checking in with yourself can be more powerful than you think? 🌤️
Ask yourself: “What best captures how I’m feeling right now?” and notice where you land on the scale. Whether it’s a stormy 0, a cloudy 5, or a bright 10, simply recognising your internal state is a meaningful step toward understanding and supporting your wellbeing.
Reflecting on your emotions helps you:
🔹 Tune into your needs
🔹 Respond with self-compassion
🔹 Notice patterns over time
🔹 Make small choices that support your mental and emotional health
Even a quick pause to check in with yourself can make a difference. How are you feeling today? 🌿

Opening up about what we’re going through can feel vulnerable, but it can also be incredibly freeing 🌼 When we’re met with empathy and understanding, we create space for connection, healing, and self-compassion.
Shayla brings this belief to life in her work as a registered psychologist, using a warm, person-centred approach to help clients feel safe and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.

“I’m fine.”
A phrase most of us use a little too often.. sometimes out of habit, sometimes to avoid taking up space.
💭 Sometimes it means “I don’t want to talk about it.”
💭 Sometimes it means “I’m just getting through the day.”
Though a friendly reminder: you deserve more than just feeling fine.
You deserve to feel supported, seen, and safe enough to be honest (with both others, and yourself) 💙

Life is rarely without its challenges. There are some that can be so overwhelming that it seems impossible to move on. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, overwhelming feelings of anxiety or anything else causing you distress in your day-to-day life, it’s important you know that help is available for every problem life throws your way.
We all have a bit of a negative voice in our head from time to time. But if your negative self-talk is stopping you from doing what you want or need to do in your life then it’s not helping you and it has to go.
Your recurring problems will directly be related to your self-talk, beliefs and values. If you or a loved one are experiencing consistent problems or are just sick of the negative chatter, please fell welcome to get in touch.
Habits are the small decisions you make and actions you perform every day. Your life today is essentially the sum of your habits. What you consistently do ultimately forms the person you are, the things you believe, and the personality that you portray.
The problem is not the old ideas or habits, the problem is that we hold onto the belief that these old ways and attachments are holding life together and are the only way.
But what if… really think about it… what if there is another way, what if things could be different, what if you could do things differently, what if you could be happier?
We can teach you strategies and we can support you to work through the transition from your old ways to new ways.
