Dear Patients and Friends,

Happy April 1st!

Update

Due to ongoing stormwater flooding, we have closed our Eyecare Plus Wollongong clinic. The new clinic will be in Cordeaux Heights, and to avoid confusion, we will announce the address when we reopen.

Our building works and renovations are taking longer than we originally planned. We hope to finish the work and reopen by May.

If you have any urgent questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us by phone/text at 0411374419 or email at hueoptix@gmail.com.

During this transition period, our colleagues at Eyecare Plus Corrimal and several optometry clinics in Wollongong can assist you when we cannot.

Dear Patients and Friends,

Over the past two years, stormwater has flooded our Wollongong clinic, so we decided to move. This has been a lengthy process, with many updates to the building plans and delays. Christmas has come around too fast, and we will need to wait till late January/February to finish the building works on the new clinic.

We appreciate your patience and understanding over the past few months.

For the past 19 years, we've had the privilege of serving our lovely community at our Wollongong CBD clinic. However, our small boutique clinic, with limited space and parking, could really use an update. We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing trust and support, and we look forward to welcoming you to our new clinic.

We will release the new clinic address when it is open to avoid confusion. We will move to Cordeaux Heights.

We want to minimise practice interruptions, but it isn't proving easy. We will continue to work with clinic days and moving days. Sorry that the schedule is so full.

During this transition period, our colleagues at Eyecare Plus Corrimal and optometrists in town can see patients when we cannot. We are thankful for our lovely optometry community in Wollongong.

It seems an early spring this year.
Do you feel it? 🌸🌿
We continue to adapt our course of action for the coming weeks and months.🤔

Lockdowns have been extended to the end of September. Thinking of our friends and families in Sydney. Take great care and stay safe. 💛

It's important to understand the purpose of all these restrictions. Why are we still at home?🤔

Our lockdowns keep us safe 💛until we have enough people vaccinated and the virus stops spreading because it has no chance to encounter another person! 🙏

Staying at home keeps us safe, while frontline health staff are trying to help COVID patients in hospital avoid death... while nurses, Gps, and pharmacists are working urgently to get people vaccinated. 💛

Currently, we don't have a COVID vaccine for children. Everyone else who gets vaccinated, can help reduce the spread to children. 💛

We're all in this together. 🙏Our mission is to flatten this curve of crisis. Keep our hospitals intact, so sick people get the hospital beds and care they need. 💛

It's troubling times for many, so we need to check on our family and friends. Give a phone call. Make sure they are OK. 💛

Routine non-urgent eyecare is still on hold for Optometrist in this lockdown. Time critical, urgent care is essential and continues by appointment only. 💛

Look away from your phone and out the window. Sing the Happy Birthday song twice for a good 20 seconds outdoor gaze! 🙂🌿🌺 Spring is here! 💛

Parent's concern: My children are looking at their Ipads/laptops ALL day for online learning! 🙄

Instead of watching small screens on your desk, consider screen mirroring to the television across the room. Remember to sit far from the TV screen and still take regular breaks. 😊😊

Don't forget good habits including 20-20-20 rule, avoid extra close working distances, have good window views, check posture, good lighting, and 2hrs daily outdoor time.
