Happy Halloween to Everyone today!

Its a day that has become about treats and tricks, dressing up and being scary but it is a day that presents the Eve of All Saints Day.
Historically Christians Celebrated the souls of loved ones that have passed on. Some cultures even today celebrate by putting on a meal and candles to welcome the passed loved ones.

It also has been marked as a Celtic celebration Samhain marking the beginning of a new year. It was believed from the Eve of this day ( today ) to the next this was a time neither Old or New. It was also there was no time boundaries so the boundary between our world and the next, between the living and the dead, natures forces etc they were intermingled on this day.

The image of the Witch was originally the wise old woman - the Earth Goddess who wore black to stand by as the old year left and the new began but over yrs the image became a witch.

So theres a bit behind this fun, scary, mystic day......I like to think my passed loved ones are nearby today......

As we enter into Term 4 we focus on the Spring elements 🌱 of Awakening and Renewal, Detoxification physically & emotionally, personal growth and celebrating you and your journey through the seasons and gratitude.
In this season we will experience variations of Twisting poses to promote Detoxification, by 'squeezing' and rejuvenating organs.
This improves digestion and circulation. Also twisting increases spinal flexibility and back health.
Twists also release physical & emotional tension and uplift energy levels.
This is what we often need after stagnant and sluggish build up through Winter.

Spring Equinox! Spring is here!
A time of balance between day & night.
It's also a time to reflect up on the balance within in our own life. It's a time to shed things in our life that are no longer required and start fresh, new cycle, new life.
I love this time of year we look to nature we see everything starting again and blossoming with life. It also means warmer days are not too far off.
In Yoga we reflect on our life practices to cleanse, a chance for new beginnings and set new intentions.
