PARTNER YOGA ❤️ Part 2.

ADHO MUKHA SVANASANA
Benefits: Lengthens the spine, encourages circulation to organs,stretches Hamstrings & Blood flow to the brain. Opens shoulders, strengthens legs & arms.
*One partner goes into Downward Dog pose. Start by kneeling in Cat pose, hands in front of your shoulders and knees beneath your hips.
*Breathe in & come into Downward Dog. Let hips come back, ears in line with shoulders & relax neck. Try to soften heels towards the mat. Breathe out.
*The person standing, stands between the others arms in a lunge.
* Place palms on your partners sacral area.
* Lengthen their back by moving their sacram upwards. This is to elongate, lengthen the spine.
* Communicate with each other, ensure your partner is comfortable.
* Swap over.

SEE SAW - SOFT OPENING
Benefits:
Both postures open hips and encourage circulation to the pelvis and reproductive organs. The supported partner is opening their chest, heart & lungs. They are also lengthening their spine.
Communication, working together & listening.
*Sit crossed legged, Back to Back to your partner
* Breathe in, lift from your waist and extend forward and stretch arms out. Soften shoulders. Feel the rounding of your back & spine.
* Let your head and neck soften and loosen.
* Soften into the hips.
* Partner supported, breathes in & raises their arms and eased back onto their partner and rests on them.
*Lifting from waist as you ease back.
* Lifts and stretches arms & opens chest & back.
* Communicate, make sure your not resting too heavily on your partner.
* Breathe in and out.
* Let your body soften & open.

PARTNER YOGA
As Valentines Day is around the corner, 14th February ❤️, I wanted to share poses that can be done with another....
Partner Yoga, doesn't have to be done with an intimate partner, but a friend or family member. It's a fun way to learn yoga poses, share an activity with another person, connect, communicate and work together. It's a way to connect socially and relax with another person.
TADASANA SHARED
Benefits : deep breathing, opens chest,heart & lungs. Promotes good posture, & connections with your partner.

*Stand back to back
* Legs, hip width apart
*Feel balanced & grounded through your feet. Knees soft, lengthen spine & shoulders. Soften downwards.
*Palms touching, Breathe in and rise arms overhead and lengthen spine.
*Breathe out as you lower arms.
* Adjust for height differences, keep connection with partner.

PADA HASTASANA JOINING
Benefits: Stretches Hamstrings, extends, releases the spine, increases blood flow to the brain and circulation to upper body, relieves fatigue, develops coordination, focus,& balance and connection & communication with your partner.
* Stand Back to Back with your partner
* On exhalation, bend hips and drop forward so your back of your legs, buttocks are touching or almost ( depends on partners flexibility) Adjust and work together.
*When you find your balance, take hold of your arms/ hands.
*As you Breathe soften legs, feel the back fall forward, let your neck loosen.
* When you are in the pose, let your breaths flow together.

If your new to Ulysses Natural Healing Centre things to remember:🧘

☀️Mats, Bolsters, and blankets are supplied.
🌙However, you can bring your own.
☀️Shoes off in the foyer
🌙Bring a water bottle
☀️Wear comfortable clothing
🌙Phones off/ or mute in the studio
☀️If your running late enter quietly
🌙If you can't attend a session please notify the Studio.(Me)
☀️No refunds for missed classes/ holidays/sickness, but makeups are available during the same term the missed class takes place.

30 years of Yoga!
I've been practicing and had Yoga as part of my life for 30yrs!
Yoga & Meditation started way back when my cousin took me to a yoga session when I was struggling with pain & injury after a car accident. One lesson and I was hooked! I've had many amazing teachers over the years but you never forget your first teacher, Marion. She started my journey of Yoga and Teaching. Yoga has been a part of many stages of my life. During pregnancy, with my children, during sickness and keeping balance in everyday life and in those times when life throws you a curve ball and it's kept be relaxed and positive to deal with what life threw me!
I've seen my practice evolve as I age and change to my needs. I've experienced many styles of Yoga and Meditation and included these different styles to my teaching over the years.
I'm for ever thankful for Yoga & Meditation as it's shaped the person I am today!

Walking into 2026 I'm loving that injuries that held be back in 2025 are mended and managed and I'm loving being back on...

Walking into 2026 I'm loving that injuries that held be back in 2025 are mended and managed and I'm loving being back on the walking trails! But I also enjoy these moments after a walk either getting a Coffee or a Tea time moment where I take my walk in and the environment around me. Slow down....We so often forget the moment and just add our walking, running, gym time to our daily process and tick it off as another thing done. In 2026 take these moments to enjoy & not just add it to your list as another thing done ✅

As another working year ends I'd like to thank you all for a wonderful Yoga & Meditation year at Ulysses Natural Healing Centre. We have experienced many great times together, grown and discovered alot about ourselves through Yoga. This year has brought many moments happy & sad as we see cycles of life seen within our yoga community.
I love teaching Yoga and Meditation and are so grateful for the work I do & love and continue to be inspired by all of you I work with.
A big thank to all my very loyal & ongoing clients, without you I wouldn't get to do what I love and share, my passion in life. I love being part of your self care, health & wellbeing journey each week.

I wish you all a wonderful festive time. Enjoy your break to rest, unwind & refresh from a big year.

Happy Summer Solstice!

At this time of season we celebrate the radiance of the sun and the longest day in the year and shortest night. It's a season of warmth, light & growth.It is a time of year from action to nourishment. The sun nourishes us with growth and transformation as we see in nature, it's this time for us for personal growth too.We see personal inner and outer abundance.

It's a time for new beginnings as it's a new season and a great time to shed old patterns. Experience hope in this season to see it within the world and to nurture others. It's also a time for being grateful for what we have.

Happy Halloween to Everyone today!

Its a day that has become about treats and tricks, dressing up and being scary but it is a day that presents the Eve of All Saints Day.
Historically Christians Celebrated the souls of loved ones that have passed on. Some cultures even today celebrate by putting on a meal and candles to welcome the passed loved ones.

It also has been marked as a Celtic celebration Samhain marking the beginning of a new year. It was believed from the Eve of this day ( today ) to the next this was a time neither Old or New. It was also there was no time boundaries so the boundary between our world and the next, between the living and the dead, natures forces etc they were intermingled on this day.

The image of the Witch was originally the wise old woman - the Earth Goddess who wore black to stand by as the old year left and the new began but over yrs the image became a witch.

So theres a bit behind this fun, scary, mystic day......I like to think my passed loved ones are nearby today......

As we enter into Term 4 we focus on the Spring elements 🌱 of Awakening and Renewal, Detoxification physically & emotionally, personal growth and celebrating you and your journey through the seasons and gratitude.
In this season we will experience variations of Twisting poses to promote Detoxification, by 'squeezing' and rejuvenating organs.
This improves digestion and circulation. Also twisting increases spinal flexibility and back health.
Twists also release physical & emotional tension and uplift energy levels.
This is what we often need after stagnant and sluggish build up through Winter.
