✨ Hello 2026 ✨

💛 We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a safe, gentle start to the new year. As the school year begins, we’re thinking of all our local kids and families and hope everyone is settling back into routines as smoothly as possible.

🎄 We want to extend a huge thank you to every individual, business, and family who supported Adopt a Wish 2025. The generosity, care, and community spirit shown once again reminded us how special our Wheatbelt community truly is.

💫 Towards the end of last year, Jules completed training in a very exciting, neuro-affirming social-emotional curriculum, which will be rolled out as a school holiday program. — More information coming soon.

🌱 This term, our focus will be on a much-needed overhaul of the Tiny Seeds Resource Library. The library will remain available to members, however access will be by appointment only while we work through updates and improvements.

🖥️ You may also notice our website is currently undergoing some maintenance and upgrades. During this time, the Wheatbelt Support Services Network will be briefly offline while improvements are made.

🌸 Thank you for your patience, support, and for continuing to walk alongside us as we grow and evolve. We’re really looking forward to what 2026 has in store.

🌟 A Year & ½ in Review – WHTG / WCC 🌟

As we reflect on the past 18 months, we are truly humbled and proud of how far we’ve come together as a community. Since stepping into our roles at Wongan Hills Therapy Group / Wongan Community Care, here are some of the highlights we’ve been able to achieve with your support:

🌿 Nature Hunt & Sausage Sizzle – a fun day outdoors connecting families away from screens.

🎉 Meet Ya Mates School Holiday Event – bringing local kids together during the break to help ease first day back to school nerves.

🧱 Bricks & Buddies School Holiday Event – a free, creative, connection-filled Lego-focused day that encouraged teamwork, imagination, and loads of fun organised and hosted by Jaime.

🎨 Art + Soul Youth Creative Club – an initiative funded by Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, nurturing creativity, connection, self-expression and friendship through art, organised and run by Jules.

🪑 Buddy Bench at the local school – created with our Men’s Shed partners and made possible by a heartfelt anonymous donation, encouraging friendship and inclusivity, organised and installed by Jaime.

🧑‍🎓 Hosting a Year 10 Student for Work Experience – supporting pathways for our next generation.

🧠 What’s Up Wednesday – raising awareness and sparking conversations around disability and inclusion.

🦸 Superhero Sunday – celebrating everyday heroes who support children with additional needs.

With your help and funding support, we’ve been able to add new resources including:

These tools are already making a big difference for families in our region.

💛 None of this would be possible without the ongoing support of our community, local organisations, volunteers, donors, and families. Together, we’ve achieved so much in just 18 months – and we hope that this is only the beginning.

We’ll be diving deeper into some of our favourite highlights over the coming weeks.

Jaime is on her second day of the three-day Asia Pacific Autism Conference in Perth. International speakers, government officials, professors, doctors, researchers, educators, autistic voices, and lived-experience advocates are speaking to attendees who have travelled here from all over the world. Jaime is listening and asking questions through the lens of community, education, and parenting.

Her talk was titled ‘Thinking Outside the Box – A Model of Autism Care for Low-Resource Settings’. We certainly know a bit about low resources in autism care in the Wheatbelt, and it was a great talk!" – Jaime.

The countdown is on — wishlist registrations for our Adopt a Wish 2025 Project close next Saturday, November 16th! ⏰

If you have children who could use a little extra Christmas cheer this year, now is the time to get those wishes in! 🌟 Whether it’s a small toy, something creative, or a special item that would light up their Christmas morning — we’d love to help make it come true. ❤️

The Adopt a Wish Project is our way of wrapping the community’s arms around local families — reminding each other that no child should miss out on the joy of Christmas. 🎄

And this year, thanks to our new partnership with WB Family Meats, adopters will also have the option to purchase a voucher (purchased via us) towards a festive meal — ensuring every home can share something special around the table. 🍽️💖

🎄✨ Adopt a Wish 2025 – There’s Still Time to Make Magic Happen! ✨🎄

We’re counting down the days until wish registrations close on November 16th, which means there’s only a little while left to get those special wishes in! 💫

We’re thrilled to announce our collaboration with WB Family Meats, our very own local, family-run butcher. 🥩🎁 Through this partnership, adopters can now choose to purchase WB Family Meats vouchers (via us) to include with each registered family’s wish — ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a wholesome Christmas meal. 🍽️🎄

This also means that those who may not be in a position to contribute a physical gift can still play an important part in making someone’s Christmas special, simply by helping put a meal on the table. 💖

Every contribution — big or small — stays right here in our town, supporting local families, local hearts, and local hands. 🌾

🌻 As we head into Term 4… 🌻

We’ll be gently dialing things back on community engagement for the remainder of the year, giving ourselves (and our little ones) the space to rest, reset, and avoid that all-too-familiar end-of-year burnout.

Behind the scenes, we’ll be focusing our energy on some exciting projects and fresh ideas — all with the goal of kicking off 2026 with a bang. 💥

🎄✨ The Adopt a Wish Project is BACK for 2025! ✨🎄

We’re stoked to announce that our registration platform is officially open! 🥳

For those new to the initiative — the Adopt a Wish Project connects our generous Wongan Hills community with local children whose families may be doing it tough this Christmas.

Each child submits an item on their wishlist (via a parent/guardian), and community members (known as adopters) choose a wish to fulfil — ensuring every child wakes up to a gift on Christmas morning 🎁💛

This Heartfelt project is all about spreading kindness, supporting local families, and keeping the magic of Christmas alive across our community.
