It has been an exceptionally busy week for Woodford, with the elf in the post box being found by many, suggesting that he needs to hide better. Dawn helping staff getting ready to put the christmas trees up, The arrival of Elvis was a great event, featuring an outstanding concert as expected. The week drew to a close with Rob sitting outside, preparing for the men's group with a beer.

As spring is in full swing, the flowers are blossoming, and our residents are delighted to sit outside, surrounded by the vibrant gardens in bloom.

Melbourne Cup proved to be a highly enjoyable experience, launching with a creative toilet paper horse racing competition, followed by Fashion on the Field, where Kay and Ian secured first place. The event concluded with Margaret and Dorothy being awarded lucky door prizes, ensuring a memorable day for all.

Spooky fun at Woodford Manor! 👻✨

Our residents had a fang-tastic Halloween filled with laughter, games, and treats! From jumping jack races and our sticky spider web challenge, to trick or treating! We had also a best dressed/costume contest, everyone joined in on the fun. 🎃

Woodford is getting set for the festive season, with our residents hosting a Christmas craft sale on December 5th, kicking off preparations today, having put a great deal of thought into their crafts and eagerly awaiting the sale; at the same time, we are rolling out our elf in post box initiative on Saturday, which, taking into account our 75 residents, necessitated a start date of November 1st, and the residents are looking forward to checking their post boxes, hopefully finding our little elf inside, also yesterday's visit from our lovely puppy Rosie.

We’ve started having weekend concerts, and today the Woodford Singers filled the place with music and smiles. 🥰🎤🎶

Everyone had such a wonderful time singing along and enjoying the tunes! 💙

Woodford manor aged care has been part of the Maggie beer foundation Trainer Mentor Program over the past year. We have always prided ourselves on providing quality food but this program has truly helped us elevate what we already do by identifying areas to increase protein or to layer flavour to really get the most out of the food we provide to our cherished residents.

So to celebrate coming to the end of the Trainer Mentor Program we were asked to put on an event which we called the ‘Maggie Beer inspired longest lunch’.
There was lots of excitement building up to this event from residents and staff and everyone throughly enjoyed the day. The kitchen crew loved being able to put this event on for the residents and to see everyone enjoying our meals, the atmosphere and togetherness was very rewarding.

We were treated to a fantastic performance by Kiwi Elvis today, and the audience clearly had a wonderful time. As a special touch, Elvis sang happy birthday to Deb in advance of her upcoming birthday , and gifted her a stunning boxed flower arrangement. Look out for video highlights from the concert, which will be posted next week.

We enjoyed a lovely high tea in memory support today, the heat unfortunately kept us indoors, Edward's music was a pleasure to listen to again and Pat won our lucky door prize. We are excited about the next event.

Our resident Ian and his wife Dot marked an incredible milestone today - their 70th wedding anniversary. A wonderful celebration with loved ones, laughter, and cherished memories together with good food and lovely drinks in the cafe. Wishing you both continued happiness and love.
