I haven't posted in what seems like forever!

I've been incredibly, wonderfully involved in Level 1 Dru Yoga Teacher Training, and in a few months I expect to have successfully completed all my formal assessments for this. I am on my way to becoming a Yoga Therapist and I'm pretty excited about this!

I am still working as an EFT Tapping Practitioner, and can still use Laughter Yoga techniques as well as Coaching. I will always utilise all of these aspects, skills and techniques with you.

So, remember, for any issues with dealing with: long or short term stressors; trauma recovery; addictions / addictive behaviours - whether the symptoms are on the mental, emotional or physical levels contact me to make a time for us to begin working together.

🌞 Sunlight converts cholesterol in our skin into vitamin D.

Every cell has a vitamin D receptor.

The mitochondria, the power house, in our cells need vitamin D to make the fluid.

This fluid is also nutrition for your immune cells.

We rely on the electrical field of the sun during the day to make this fluid in the mitochondria. (Trees 🌲 do it differently. Even dogs 🐶 do it differently).

You need to be outside in the midday sun as much as possible until the skin changes colour slightly. 👙🩲Then cover up. 🕶

DO NOT WEAR SUNSCREEN, EVER.

Your body can store vitamin D.

Our bodies are amazing.

The freeze trauma response is often (long term) confused or misdiagnosed as depression.

Freeze is a coping mechanism adopted in childhood to survive painful or overwhelming childhoods.

We learn to shut down or completely avoid anything where we would be seen or anything outside of our comfort zone.

We don’t feel a desire to connect with others or have an overall belief that life is pointless or meaningless.

We may “hide out” from the world. Or when extremely activated, we black out or forget entire moments/years of our lives.

Healing from freeze involves returning to the body. And finding safety within the present moment.

THIS LOOKS LIKE:
- practicing breathwork or movement in small amounts daily

- learning to focus on the sensations within the body without assigning a judgement to them (just feeling for 10-20 seconds then identifying the sensation (this feels like tingling, this feels like heat)

- finding community around your true passions (no matter how other people feel about them or have judged these passions) online support groups can be helpful here

- celebrating small victories like taking a small walk to the mailbox, completing one small task, or doing one thing outside your comfort zone (like making a meal you’ve never tried.

Significant dates

Sometimes, when any significant date arises, we can be taken right back into the memory of the event so much so that we are retraumatised all over again. Our minds react as though it’s all still happening, right now – and our bodies respond with the fight / flight / freeze trauma response.

When this is happening it’s really the neural pathways that we developed at the time of the trauma (and each time we remembered the event) kicking in.

The best way to interrupt these neural pathways and create new ones while removing the ‘charge’ from the trauma memory is with EFT Tapping.
