What a brilliant night on Saturday night at the Kidney Transplant Ball, celebrating 60 years of lifesaving kidney transplants!

With an incredible $54,000 raised (and counting), we’re well on the way to bringing kidney machine perfusion to South Australia, a technology which improves the health of a donated kidney.

This year The Hospital Research Foundation Group is turning 60 – celebrating six decades of life-changing impact to improve the health and wellbeing of our community. 💜

🧑‍⚕️💻 Patients at the Central Northern Adelaide Renal and Transplantation Service (CNARTS) are benefiting from improved care following the creation of a ‘Kidney Watch dashboard’ - a new internal database to track a patients journey from advanced kidney failure to dialysis.

CNARTS staff can now start their patients on dialysis better prepared by using real-time data found right at their fingertips, accessing up-to-date information on a patient’s creatinine and potassium levels, as well as their local health network and their chosen therapy at the click of a button. 🩺📉

This means that patients who are at risk of deteriorating can be identified and then start their dialysis journey earlier. It’s hoped that the dashboard will lead to patients starting dialysis better prepared and closer to home.💜🏠
