Within this space, we incorporate state-of-the-art technology which we use for Biomechanical Assessments, running technique, and lower limb angles during activity in the rehabilitation of injuries, such as ACL tears. We utilise modern apps for your phone/tablet device which help you remember your exercises, along with our Telehealth services so that you can access our healthcare movement from wherever you may be. Our clinical software allows for easy communication, reassessment and allows us to constantly readdress goals and progressions. At TPM we are very active in the local community. We pride ourselves in having a strong community presence and always willing to give a helping hand. If your single leg deadlift looks like this… 👀 Then try this instead!
If you’re seeing knee valgus or rotation through your torso, it usually means you need to:
• Build hip stability
• Improve hinge control
• Improve your balance

Try these regressions first:
▶️ Kickstand deadlifts, keep most of the load in your front leg while your back foot supports balance. Great for improving the hip hinge without fighting stability.
▶️ Deadlift sliders , think single leg hinge with your back foot sliding. This builds hamstring strength and glute control while reducing balance demands.
Focus on:
• Controlled tempo
• Strong foot tripod (big toe, little toe, heel)
• Hips square to the floor
• Slight knee bend with tension in the hamstrings

To build strength for your Single Leg Deadlift, try these:
▶️ Standing Hip Abduction, strengthens your glute medius to keep the knee tracking straight.
▶️ Step Downs, improves control and stability through your hips and knees while training eccentric strength.
These small moves go a long way in keeping your single leg deadlift strong, stable, and safe!

Thinking about surgery? Or recently had one? Here’s why physio matters more than most people realise.

Surgery is only one part of the recovery journey.
Your real results come from what happens before and after.

Pre-surgery physio (Prehab) helps you:
• Improve strength and mobility before surgery
• Reduce post-operative complications
• Recover faster after the procedure
• Feel confident and prepared for rehab

Post-surgery physio helps you:
• Restore movement safely and progressively
• Reduce pain and swelling
• Rebuild strength and stability
• Prevent future injury and re-operation
• Return to sport, work and everyday life sooner

The goal isn’t just to “heal” - it’s to get you back to doing what you love, better than before.

If surgery is coming up (or you’re recovering now), our team can guide you every step of the way

If your shoulders feel tight, unstable, or fatigued after paddling… it’s usually because:
• Weak rotator cuff & scapular stabilizers
• Overuse of the front delts, internal rotators and chest
• Poor shoulder mechanics under load

Start with mobility & activation:
➡️ Wall Angles, open the chest, optimise proper scapular movement, and warm up your shoulders.
➡️ W, Y, T’s , trains the upper back and scapular stabilizers in multiple planes.

Add strength & control:
➡️ Side Lying External Rotation , builds rotator cuff strength without stressing the joint as well as counteracts all of the internal load during paddling.
➡️Single Arm Row , strengthens your lats and posterior shoulder muscles to compensate for the load on anterior muscles

If you want individualised advice - pop in and see Dael, our surf strength and conditioning coach.

Happy paddling!

Targeted medicine for your bones.

🎥Dael (Exercise Physiologist) explains the why behind the movement 👇

For females, after menopause, bone density drops. The right strength training can slow, stop and even improve this.

Why see an Exercise Physiologist?
• Exercises designed to stimulate bone growth
• Safe loading for hips & spine
• Personalised progressions
• Education so you understand the why

Strong bones = independence for life 💪
