We had an amazing time at our Christmas party!

Three years ago, it was an intimate gathering of two, and look how we've grown! Last year we were six, and this year we celebrated with 11!

We're so thankful for our team's hard work this year. It's been a year of growth, learning, and lots of effort.

OPA!!!

Every appointment, every chat, every moment of rediscovered hearing reminds us why we love what we do. It’s a privilege to help people reconnect with the sounds — and people — that matter most.

Thank you for trusting us, for sharing your stories, and for supporting local.
We’re so proud to be part of your hearing journey.

It’s been a huge few weeks here at The Little Hearing Co!

We’ve welcomed two amazing new team members (some much-needed extra hands and brains), met so many new clients, and shared countless conversations about hearing, life, and everything in between.

This month also marks a big milestone – opening our doors to the Bulimba community! We’re right next door to Riverbend Books on Oxford Street. We’re feeling really lucky, excited, and grateful to be part of the Bulimba community and we can’t wait to get to know more of our neighbours, support local businesses, and be here for anyone who needs some hearing help!

Our business is growing faster than we could have imagined, and we’ll soon be on the lookout for a passionate audiologist to join us on this exciting ride.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported us so far – whether you’ve popped in for a test, referred a friend, or just stopped to say hi. It really means so much to have your support 😍

We’re hiring! 🎉

If you’re an audiology student looking for some industry experience in a supportive and friendly environment, we’d love to hear from you. We’re on the lookout for an Audiology Student team member to work casually (5–12 hours a week) to help out across our Wynnum and soon-to-open Bulimba clinics.

It’s a great opportunity to get exposure to private practice audiology while still balancing your uni schedule. You’ll be working alongside a lovely team who really care about what they do.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, here’s the link to apply:

Having a great day at our Keperra clinic! Got to meet some of our Keperra clients and our lovely UQ student who is here doing some work experience with Tom.

My hearing aid trial is also going well. I dont wear it all the time but it has been useful during events and when visiting places with lots of background noise. My hearing loss is mild so full time use for me is not required. It’s been great having it with me and popping it in when I find myself struggling to hear.

The key takeaway from me is making sure your hearing aid is comfortable during your fitting appointment. I trialed two different ear tips until I found one that sat in my ear comfortably. If you’re finding your hearing aid uncomfortable, please come and speak with us as there are alternative options available.

✨A Milestone Moment for Bob✨

Today we are celebrating an incredible achievement of our client Bob, who has had his Cochlear Implant switched on for the first time.

Bob is 94 years young.

For years, Bob and his family faced challenges with even the simplest conversations, as Bob simply could not hear. It would have been easy for them to simply accept it and say, 'Dad is just getting older.' But with the unwavering support of his family, Bob made the courageous decision to get a cochlear implant.

His journey has been filled with strength, bravery, perseverance, and hope. Seeing the smile on his face as familiar sounds returned to him was simply incredible. It was an emotional moment, and you could feel the tears of joy from everyone in the room!

His courage to embrace this life-changing technology at 94 is an inspiration to us all. It’s a beautiful reminder that no matter our age, there’s always a new opportunity for growth, discovery, and connection.

Bob, thank you for letting us be a part of your story. We are so excited to hear about the many conversations, laughter, and moments you’ll experience with this new gift.

Hello 👋🏼 Jess here. Did you know I have a hearing loss? I had a bad ear infection in my twenties and lost about 30% of my hearing in my left ear. I struggle to hear in noisy environments and my friends and family often (playfully) tease me about me constantly saying “WHAT?!” pretty often 😅

My son Angus has been sick this week and I’ve been feeling pretty tired with extra nightly wake ups (plus the week before and cyclone sleepless nights!). I said to Ben I felt as though my hearing was getting worse throughout the day. He explained to me how much extra my brain has to work to fill in the gaps caused by my hearing loss.

So today, I decided to try out a hearing aid, the Widex SmartRIC 440! At first it sounded a bit tinny and strange. I wasn’t concerned about the appearance, more the feel of it in my ear canal. I have to say I can barely notice it! I can tell it’s there when I put my sunnies on or tuck my hair behind my ear due to the handling noise those actions make.

I’ll keep you updated on how I go with it!

Can you see it in my ear??

It's getting a bit windy!

The Little Hearing Co at Wynnum and Keperra is closed on Thursday and Friday this week.

If you'd like to reschedule any appointments, please give us a call on 0411 412 687.

Hoping you all stay safe and dry.
