A little pre-Christmas magic at Free Rein Wellbeing

Belle has always shared a gentle, reciprocal bond with one of our clients — a relationship grounded in trust, respect, and beautiful co-regulation. They often describe each other as besties, and watching them support one another is something truly special.

Last week Belle wasn’t quite ready to participate in Christmas dress-ups with Shelley (and we always honour her boundaries).
But today, with the support of her bestie nearby, Belle confidently embraced the festive spirit and wore her bestie's Pokémon Christmas hat with pride! She certainly does Christmas in her "Belle Beautiful" style!

These moments remind us how powerful connection and relationship-based therapy can be. When horses feel safe and supported, their authentic selves shine........interestingly this goes for their "besties" also!

We’re grateful to witness these small but meaningful sparks of joy - We gratefully acknowledge the consent of this client to use her image, thankyou.

🌟 **Embracing the Journey of Change: Moment by Moment, Experience by Experience** 🌟

Welcome Human Herd!

Let's dive into the process of **change**—a journey that unfolds moment by moment, experience by experience, we grow, we develop, we continuously evolve through every encounter and challenge life presents. 🌱

Change is **experiential**. Each moment and every experience contribute to our growth. We're essentially **experimenting** with life, learning and adapting as we go along. This experimental nature of life means there is no absolute right or wrong way to navigate it. Every step, whether it goes as planned or not, teaches us something valuable. 🧩

It's important to become **comfortable with the uncomfortable**. When things don't turn out as expected, it can be unsettling. However, these moments are crucial for our development. Embracing these experiences without judgement and instead with curiosity helps us gain insight or new knowledge, build resilience and discover new strengths within ourselves. 💪

Remember, life is a series of experiments. Celebrate your successes and your setbacks equally. Both are essential parts of the beautiful tapestry of growth and change. Setbacks or experiments that didn’t provide the desired outcome are just information gathering for your next experiment.

Here's to embracing every moment and experience with an open heart and a curious mind! 🌟

One of our adult clients recently shared with me the profound effect one of our beautiful co-facilitators, Belle, had on her. She shared the words she had shared to her social media with me and agreed to let me post them here also.

"I've been having a few rough months but something amazing happened at equine therapy (equine assisted learning) Friday just gone. I was taking the rugs of the horse and while one was easy to work with the other Belle, was like working with a neurodivergent kid, I took my time and worked at her pace and when i was done we walked to the middle of the paddock to talk and Belle decided to follow, nudge me, proceeding to turn and face me, knelt on her knees and rolled over to scratch her back in front of me, got back up and nudged me again before trotting away back to her food. I've never in my life had a horse show such trust in me that it overwhelmed me happiness I was nearly crying, this has taken me a few days to process but its clear as day I need to put the same trust in myself as this magnificent creature has done. I'll never forget this moment nor the feeling that came with it"

Have you ever had a profound moment that has given you insight into how to trust yourself??
