OUR PHILOSOPHY

In recent years a high percentage of people around the globe have opted to take a natural and holistic approach to their health. The removal of chemicals, preservatives and additives and the addition of fresh, whole and organic foods now comfortably walks hand in hand with the use of natural medicine. Almost two decades ago, Sue started formulating herbal blends and treatment plans

using the same principles but for animals with astounding results. At a time when the acceptance of herbal medicine for animals was quite poor, the more than favourable outcome of the animals that were transitioning to a natural diet and herbs brought about much curiosity and excitement of what could be. It wasn’t long before a herbal medicine for animals business was established and over the following 14 years, Sue lectured in the areas of Animal Naturopathy, Herbal medicine, Nutrition, Pasture management, Anatomy and physiology and Myofunctional therapy and graduated in the areas of Animal Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Shiatsu, Bowen Therapy and Iridology. The constant study, dedication and further development of the treatments for animals gained the respect of Veterinary practitioners and Animal practitioners alike. With so much interest, Sue offered regular presentations for owners and travelled to the UK and Europe where she continued to educate owners about the simple, cost effective and incredible health benefits associated with offering their pets a natural lifestyle along with the use of herbal medicine when needed. With many years of experience and the need to continue to help the animal world, we are proud to be offering our new herbal range. This time we have opted for pure herbal extracts with 75-80% being fresh plant tinctures that have been grown in Australia. The development of products and treatment plans are ongoing which means that our journey is far from over. Want to join us? We would love to be a part of your pet’s journey too.

As a Canine Nutritionist, I love to speak to owners about variations of diets to suit their dogs, and as a TCM practitioner for dogs, I find that equipping owners with information about nutrition from a Chinese medicine perspective, can be the difference between a condition that has never improved, despite numerous diet changes and tests and the condition easing after making a few simple changes.
If you would like to learn more about feeding your dog from a Chinese Medicine perspective, please let me know in the comments.
If there’s enough interest, I’ll run some classes from our farm “Mabuhay” in the Yarra Valley.
If you can also comment whether a Friday or a Saturday would suit you, that would be great!

We must be the only people on earth to not have Netflix and “special tv”… but clearly I’m amused with daily life on our farm 😂
For me, there’s no life that could possibly be better than being surrounded by all of these animals.
Each one has their individual personality, and no day is ever the same on our property “Mabuhay”
Happy Sunday everyone, i would love to spend the day with our animals, but had better do some washing 😳, Sue xo

While most of you know me as an Animal Naturopath and TCM practitioner....I also treat humans with Shiatsu and especially love sharing the benefits of 5 Element Nutrition (Nutrition from a TCM perspective) and how this can help to ease the symptoms of menopause.

As a keen gardener, I grow most of the food that we eat, and I can't wait to share the principles of eating from a Chinese Medicine perspective with you.

As a menopausal women who has experienced the symptoms that we often hear about as well as those that many of us choose not to speak about,
I would like to invite you to be a part of a day designed to gently support women navigating perimenopause and menopause, offering care, understanding, and a sense of community during a time of change.

It’s an invitation to slow down and explore this often challenging yet transformative stage with greater awareness, compassion, and self-care.

I have been lucky enough to be sharing the day with a group of incredible women, who will be sharing their wisdom, in a space of grounding, connection, and quiet support, to reconnect with what feels true.

THE WOMEN’S HEARTH: THE QUIET RETURN

The seasons have changed and our four legged family had a slow start today!
We woke to the horses lying in the path of any sun ray’s they could find, the sheep in a hurry to go to their day time paddock and little Eli sat with his chin rested on the dining table, trying his best to keep his eyes opened!
Enjoy your Sunday, and if you’re in Melbourne, stay warm! xo

It’s true that carrots are highly nutritious for dogs, and when pulped (to break the tough cell wall) the nutrients are able to be easily absorbed.
But have you ever considered carrots from a Chinese Medicine perspective?
If you’re worried about food allergies or intolerances, your dog may be dealing with foods that don’t suit the current season, or your dog’s individual constitution.
Some owners try almost everything…except for seeking help from a TCM perspective.
I find that this makes an enormous difference when treating persistent issues such as chronic skin sensitivity and inflammatory conditions.
You can apply synthetically produced topical treatments, and supplements or, you can offer bioavailable nutrition via a healthy, natural diet.
I know what makes our dogs happier and healthier.
Want to know more?
Visit for a full consult and we can go over everything,
Sue ☺️🐕🐩

Sometimes despite our very best efforts, our dogs can experience symptoms that cause both of you, frustration and sadness.
Over the past 2 decades, I have found that treating dogs through both a Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine lense, uncovers patterns that link many of these symptoms.
Once we understand your dog’s individual constitution and “why” these patterns have occurred, we can begin to treat the underlying condition and start strengthening the body to reduce its vulnerability to future illness’s.
If you have a feeling that your dog isn’t feeling 100%, trust the connection between you both and book an appointment.
I’ll always do what I can, so your dog experiences better health and as much happiness as possible,
Sue xo

What’s included in a Canine Consultation?
All of the consultations I offer can vary, depending on what your dog needs on the day.
As a Canine Naturopath, Oriental Medicine practitioner, Herbalist and Nutritionist (both traditional and TCM 5 element nutrition) I often explore the overall health via all of these perspectives, with the aim to treat the underlying cause, for long term health.
Whether your dog needs a follow up treatment in the following weeks, or months, will all depend on your dog as an individual.
Because we always discuss diet, causes and treatment options, and I often treat your dog using either Shiatsu, Acupuncture, Bowen therapy and/or Myotherapy, the consultation will always be booked in a 45 -60 minute time slot.
My happiness is to see you feeling confident with the health of your cherished 4 legged family member, and for future consultations to follow up and check in with progress rather than to treat the same issue over and over again.
The long consult time, in a treatment space that looks more like a lounge room (with dog beds) rather than a clinical room) allows you and your pets to feel more relaxed and at ease while we navigate our way through the options, together.
Located on our family farm in the Yarra Valley, I would love to meet you and your dogs.
Please feel welcome to contact me via our website, or messenger, and I’ll be sure to have a cuppa ready for your arrival, Sue xo

I have a little gardening/food obsession which has allowed our pets to be well, my menopausal symptoms to be easily manageable, and my family’s health and well-being to be improved.
A big part of what I speak to animal owners, and humans about, is referred to as 5 Element Nutrition…that is, a Chinese Medicine approach which is designed to create balance in the body by matching foods, flavours, colours and cooking styles with the five elements - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
Each element is linked to particular organs, seasons, and emotions, and eating in alignment with these relationships, is believed to aid in the prevention of illness, and support health and wellbeing.
I find the added bonus of growing our own food, is the unparalleled sense of satisfaction and connection to nature.
It feels like a magical reward for weeks (sometimes months or years) of constant care and nurturing of the soil and plants.
Sharing deliciously, nourishing, home grown food is, the cherry on top, so to speak!
