💥An NDIS Support Coordinator works alongside NDIS participants to help them make the most of their NDIS plans.
Their role is to strengthen the participant’s ability to understand, implement, and coordinate supports, empowering them to achieve their goals and increase independence.
Key responsibilities include:
• 🌱 Understanding the Plan.
Helping participants understand their NDIS plan, funding categories, and what supports they can access.
• 🔍 Connecting with Services
Linking participants with appropriate service providers, community resources, and mainstream supports that align with their goals and needs.
• 🧩 Coordinating Supports
Ensuring all supports work together effectively — across NDIS, health, education, housing, and informal supports.
• 📊 Monitoring Progress
Regularly reviewing how supports are working and adjusting services as needs change, to ensure participants get the best outcomes.
• 🛠️ Building Capacity
Supporting participants to build the confidence and skills to manage their own supports independently over time.
• 📄 Reporting to the NDIA
Providing updates and reports as required, especially before plan reviews, to demonstrate outcomes and highlight ongoing needs.
Ultimately, a Support Coordinator is a trusted guide and advocate — walking alongside the participant, ensuring their voice is heard, and that their NDIS journey is empowering, not overwhelming.
