🌊 More Than Just a Swim 💙

Time in the swimming pool can be incredibly beneficial for people living with disabilities. The water supports the body, reduces pressure on joints, improves mobility, builds strength, and encourages coordination — all in a safe and enjoyable environment.

But it’s not just physical benefits. The pool also helps with sensory regulation, confidence building, emotional wellbeing, and social connection. It’s a place where goals are achieved, fears are faced, and smiles come naturally.

At CQ Health Hub, we love seeing our participants grow stronger, calmer, and more confident through water-based activities. 💚

BUT WHAT IN THE WORLD HAS HE CAUGHT??????

There’s something truly special about seeing our participant doing what he loves most — fishing!

For our client with Down syndrome, fishing isn’t just a hobby… it’s his happy place. The excitement of casting a line, the patience of waiting for a bite, and the pure joy when he reels something in — it all builds confidence, independence, and pride.

Moments like these are so much more than a day out. They’re about building skills, creating memories, and celebrating the things that light our participants up. Seeing that smile says it all!

We feel incredibly privileged to support these passions and be part of such meaningful experiences. 💙

Today at CQ Health Hub our participant enjoyed some peaceful respite time — a gentle pause to rest, relax, and feel supported. Having this calm space allows her to unwind at her own pace, feel comfortable and cared for, and simply enjoy the moment. Respite plays such an important role in emotional wellbeing, helping restore balance, ease the mind, and provide reassurance that support is always there. Moments like these, though quiet, can make a truly meaningful difference.

✨ Are you or someone you care for needing nursing support at home?

CQ Health Hub now offers experienced, compassionate Registered Nurses supporting participants in Yeppoon and Rockhampton. Our nurses provide personalised, participant-centred care including medication management, health monitoring, wound care, complex care needs, and ongoing support to help individuals live safely, comfortably, and confidently at home. We understand that navigating nursing support can feel overwhelming at times, and you don’t have to do it alone.

We’re always happy to have a chat, answer questions, or organise a meet-and-greet to see if we’re the right fit. If you know someone who could benefit from nursing support under their NDIS plan, please reach out or share this post.
