Do you ever feel like you’re constantly running on stress, unable to slow down, relax or rest?

Chances are, your nervous system has forgotten how to switch gears.

In a kinesiology session, we don’t just address stress. We help your body remember what safety feels like.

Your nervous system has two modes:

1. Stress (fear mode)
2. Rest and digest (safe mode / homeostasis)

But when safety isn’t familiar or is seen as ‘threatening’, your body may default to stress, even when there’s no real danger.

So learning what ‘safety’ feels like is a crucial part to thriving and feeling at our best. The more you practice recognising and inviting safety into your life, the more familiar it becomes. The more familiar, the less we’ll default back to an inappropriate stress response.

Self-blame and self-criticism can be a coping mechanism or a survival instinct.

If something triggers us and causes us to feel unsafe, helpless or like we don't have control - blaming ourselves can make us feel like we are gaining back that control on a subconscious, nervous system level.

It's like thinking, "If I blame me and it's my fault, I can do something about it, I am not completely helpless..."

But here's the catch - even though it feels like we are gaining back control, it's a false sense of control. Blaming ourselves it's actually doing the opposite, making us feel worse, stressed and more out of control in the long run...

So if you have a pattern or a coping mechanism that is keeping you stuck and you are ready to let it go, kinesiology can help 🙂

The remedy to feeling stuck?

Action.

Most of the time, the way forward isn’t more thinking… it’s making a decision and acting on it.

But what stops us from making decisions?

Fear.

…And fear isn’t always obvious.

It shows up as “reasons” and “excuses”

What if I make the wrong decision?
What if I’m not good enough?
What if it’s not perfect?

Underneath it, is the fear of getting it wrong and facing the consequences

In a kinesiology session, we explore what’s behind your fear, then provide the safe space and guidance to help you face it, process it and learn to be okay with it

Because when you know you can handle making the wrong decision, the feeling of hurt and disappointment, you’re far more likely to take a chance, act and move forward.

I’m beyond grateful to do what I love everyday but I truly wouldn’t be here without all of you.

A couple of months back, I saw "Mary" (not her real name) who had been struggling with chronic joint and muscle pain for over ten years. The underlying cause? Unresolved grief that her body had been holding onto for years. At the time of her loss, she wasn’t able to process her grief so her body carried it as a way to cope. 

After guiding and assisting Mary to process this grief, her pain disappeared after just one session. She has been pain-free ever since.

If you’re dealing with chronic pain, know that it’s not always a physical issue. Sometimes it’s emotional — a sign from your body that something needs to be addressed or released 💚🍃

Just jumping on here to share a gentle reminder…

What you believe, you create. 💫
If you carry a belief that you’re inadequate in some way, unsafe or that something is wrong or lacking in your life — you’ll always find the evidence to prove it true. And if the proof isn’t there, you’ll create it (make it your reality) just to say, “see, I told you so.”

So why do we do this?
Proving ourselves 'right' gives us (the ego) a momentary sense of certainty and safety, however, it’s a FALSE sense, which often keeps us stuck in the same unhealthy cycles.

So if the stories you’re telling yourself are making you feel bad, here’s my challenge for you - flip the script. Look for the proof that the opposite belief or story could also be true. There's a good chance you'll still prove yourself right 💚
