Welcoming, blessing, honoring the mother 🤍
I often host these blessing circles for mothers during their pregnancies but this time I held it a couple weeks after birth and woah how special it was. Celebrating the mother who already experienced the magic of birth, the rawness and emotional juiciness of those first days and weeks, the deepest unconditional love, those moments when you don’t know how to do it but you do it anyways. When there are no more “you will see” but instead “I see you, I hear you, I truly understand you”. Mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, sisters and cousins came together, to celebrate and honor the mother; and it was truly a magical evening. Thank you for allowing me to hold space for you. I hope the love of these strong women in your family will carry you through every hard moment. I hope you know, no distance can weaken the power your lineage carries. May you always remember how loved you are 🌸🤍

You could try to convince me that I’m not richest person alive while leaving with my whole family to celebrate the sweetest baby’s first birthday, who’s birth I photographed exactly a year ago, but oh I would never believe you!! Sweet baby, what a blessing your arrival and this past year has been! I will be forever grateful for this birth, that it brought me so close with , for all the baby dates and friend dates in this past year! 🤍 Grateful that it led us to true moments, so much fun and a friendship! Thank you for having us all at your table and sharing this beautiful day of celebration with us 🥹🤍🌺

It’s been a while 🥹 after taking some beautiful months to pause, embrace the changes, and find a new flow as a family of 5, I’m so happy to share that I’m back again! 🤍 With that, my doula studio also opens its doors tomorrow as we start the birth preparations with a sweet mom! 🪻 Thank you for all of your trust and for asking me to be your doula, despite the silent months! Can’t wait to walk with all these amazing women! 🥹

A dear friend of mine, is hosting her beautiful ceremony this Saturday. I had the chance to join in December and I had such a beautiful experience that I wanted to share about it more! She will start with a cacao ceremony, followed by a meditation and finally a family opstelling. A truly beautiful experience! A late night hospital birth. A beautiful boy born in water, surrounded by candle lights. Welcomed with patience, warmth and so much love. - This is how it can also be.

These days I experience so much fear, doubts when it comes to hospital births. So have can you actually prepare for a good birth experience?

🏡 Make your room cozy 🕯️
Bring a soft blanket and a pillow case with you, so you can feel the smell of your home.
Bring fake candles, warm xmas lights. Close the curtains, turn these small, warm lights on and enjoy the coziness.
Use a nice body/massage/essential oil to calm your mind.
If you only do these, trust me it will already make a huge difference!

📚Educate yourself, learn about your options!
If you don’t know clearly what are your go’s and absolutely no’s nobody will really be able to help you. In the delivery room there is often no time, or no attention because you are in the midst of contractions - make sure you learn beforehand about pro’s and cons, side effects, and the domino effect of certain interventions and painkillers. That’s how you will be able to make the best decisions when it’s needed.

👫 Communicate, communicate, communicate
To your partner, to your nurses, to your midwife and or OB. That’s how they can learn about your needs, wishes and boundaries! ❤️

Birth and it’s support doesn't need to be complicated. A warm touch, a kind word or simply just being present going farther than most of the tricks or techniques.

Holding her in warm, comforting love, sending her strength, praying for her and reminding her that she can do it. - that’s what she felt. Being absolutely in awe by her power, getting emotional while witnessing the love between her, her husband and family, crying happy tears together with her mom while hearing her daughter’s first cry - that’s what I remember ❤️ Zami, I will never forget those moments and I am forever grateful for you sharing the biggest moments of your life with me! 🥹 Happy one month to your babygirl. Today we celebrate her! 🌸 But also you, the amazing mother you are and your family, the most beautiful family it can be!

walking each other through different seasons, holding space for each other in the high’s and low’s. these women became the village and caring friends of mine what I’m so incredibly grateful for. 🥺🤎
