I just started a yoga nidrā training and it is fascinating to learn that this form of meditation guides you into an unusual mental state between sleep and wake. And exactly here is where the magic happens and your body begins to deeply restore and recover. The same happens when you are sleeping, but now you are aware.
Unlike many forms of meditation that require effort or concentration, yoga nidrā is deliberately effortless. You lie down, follow a voice, and you nervous system shifts to a rest-and-digest state. After a session it feels like you have slept for hours.
