Members of NUPW come out on April 3rd and give me your support by placing your vote next to my name as I endeavor to become 3rd VP of NUPW. With your help it will become a reality.

I know the struggle and the difficulties, I have been around for the past 10 years and I know I can make a difference.
Give me a chance by trusting me with your vote

Team Solidarity would like to thank all of the NUPW members who supported us in our effort to become the new NUPW executive. We are especially pleased that Bro Bostic was successful and we are confident that he will make a sterling contribution to the management of the union's affairs.
Congratulations to all the other successful candidates. We wish you every success during this term. Your success is the union's success.

It can't be denied that public servants deserve a pay increase.. They have held strain for the past few years and kept the country afloat in trying times.
The current leaders of NUPW presented a proposal of 23% increase for workers and when asked for the basis of the percentage the statistician/economist replied that he leads a team of the brightest minds in Barbados and they predict that the Barbados economy will grow by 10% and the increase can be sustained
The Chinese economy is not even recording such growth
Barbados has received 19 consecutive downgrades from the international rating agencies
The speaker at the opening of the union's conference last month showed the dire position of the economy
Both sides of the political divide are saying that the economy is far from well.
The private sector is keenly watching cause they know this is ludicrous.
Yet still the current leaders are saying, 23% or deal with heightened industrial action and possible island shutdown
This is unrealistic, unsustainable, reckless and careless.

Medicare members please pay attention to the Beacon plan being forced on you. Beacon Barbados does not have a medical insurance component, that is in Trinidad. If the Medicare plan folds the retirees after paying years for insurance coverage are liable to be left out in the cold uncovered.
Rather than work towards maintaining the current plan to ensure that the persons who worked hard to build NUPW be secured with medical insurance coverage, the current leaders prefer to run a medical package parallel to the existing one with the intention of getting persons over to the Beacon package to the demise of the current Medicare plan covered by Sagicor. Please note when questioned about a plan with Beacon it was denied on Saturday, 25th of March, 2017 at Conference, but still on Sunday, March,26th there was an article in the Sunday Sun outlining a full package in existence with 1800 members.

Hi I am Michelle Brathwaite. I am a Statistical Assistant at the Barbados Statistical Service, and a member of the National Union of Public Workers where I currently hold the position of Vice Chairperson on the Gender Affairs Committee.
I am seeking your support for the position of Deputy General Treasurer on the Executive Committee in the union’s upcoming Elections scheduled for Wednesday April 5th 2017.
As a member of the National Union of Public Workers I want to ensure that the interests of the members come first and that every action reflects the high standards for which NUPW has been known. This would mean that members must be involved and I believe that the union must provide continuous educational programs for all members.
Should I be elected as an Executive member I strongly believe that focus should be placed on:
Maintaining and reaching out to the current members, as well as having a massive recruitment drive to rebuild the membership lost within the last couple of years
Regaining and giving the same level of respect to the members of the Secretariat, our general membership, and our brothers and sisters throughout the region.
Be part of a team who can offer realistic and practical negotiations and representation on behalf of the members.
Listen to the issues and ideas of the members and allow them to have an input in decision making.
The union is also a social organization and it is vital that our brothers and sisters return to a feeling of a family caring for and about each other.
So brothers and sisters as Elections approach I seek your favour in voting for Team Solidarity and giving us the opportunity to serve as we stand committed to connect the U and I in Union ……reuniting NUPW.
