What is ABA?
ABA is a science of learning and behaviour which involves application of principles of learning to improve socially important behaviour to a meaningful degree and to demonstrate scientifically that the procedures used are responsible for the change in behaviour. It looks at what causes a behaviour ( antecedent) and what happens after a behaviour ( consequence). The methods of ABA are applied by breaking down skills into simple steps and teaching each step in succession.

Benefits of ABA-VB?
The advanced form of ABA program that is provided at the centre targets specific developmental areas such as Socially Significant Behaviours which include reading, academics, social skills, communication and adaptive living skills. Adaptive living skills include gross and fine motor skills, eating and food preparation, using the toilet, dressing, personal self-care, domestic skills, time and punctuality, money and value, home and community orientation, and work skills. The goal of the ABA intervention is to enable the child to function as independently and successful as possible in variety of environments.

In the event of World Mental Health Day 2017 which focused on Mental Health in Workplace, the Inner Circle extended fun and engaging stress relievers for SAJIDA’s staff, both at the Head Office as well as in the field.

Staff at the field offices participated in a meaningful art activity, where they articulated their daily work-related stresses through expressive sketches. This was followed by a group discussion and ways to overcome stress factors at the workplace.

At SAJIDA’s Head Office, Inner Circle facilitated “Progressive Muscular Relaxation” therapy in the morning, followed by art therapy sessions in which all staff participated enthusiastically. Other activities arranged by SAJIDA to celebrate the day included chess and carom competition. All the staff enjoyed the breaks filled with fun activities which intended to promote ways to overcome stress at the workplace.

Inner Circle, a psychosocial counseling centre established by SAJIDA Foundation, works to ensure mental well being as an integral part of healthy living through advanced and innovative techniques.
