The exact steps I took to lose my excess weight and autoimmune condition even when I wasn’t sure they’d work:

✅ Step 1: First, I added food.

Even though I was skeptical, I started with adding, not restricting. It involved understanding what foods (hint: green leafy and crusiferous veggies) help reduce inflammation, because it's the #1 driver of symptoms—and it turned out to be a crucial first move.

✅ Step 2: Second, I added Omega 3 fatty acids.

Next, I committed to including flax and chia seeds into my diet. I wasn’t sure it would make a difference, and I was concerned about their calories, but over time, my weight loss sped up and my autoimmune symptoms eased. No joke!

✅ Step 3: The third step I took was adding water.

The final piece of the puzzle was drinking more water every day, like half my body weight in ounces (so if you weigh 100 pounds, you would drink 50 ounces of water). It took some persistence, but eventually, this step helped me lose weight even more easily than before and it helped improved my labs.

✅ Step 4: I got my gut health under control.

The fourth step was crucial—addressing my Leaky Gut. It felt like a big leap, but it really helped resolve my weight problem and autoimmune symptoms. It's been almost 5 years now and I'm still going strong!

✅ Step 5: I resolved to get more rest.

I also focused on restorative sleep. It seemed small at first, but it made a surprising difference in improving cravings and hunger. It also significantly reduced my worst symptoms, fatigue and pain.
