While staying at SVYASA, I met a brahmachari. During our conversation about the Guru, he said: "A Guru can never be just anyone you choose. Who you accept as your Guru is decided by the Universe 🌌✨. The one meant to be your Guru will come into your life at the right time, and you will naturally recognize and feel that he is your Guru and you are his disciple." đŸ™â¤ī¸
His words aligned almost perfectly with my own understanding of the Guru concept. The word Guru carries immense weight — I’m not even inclined to call just anyone by that name, let alone accept them as one đŸšĢ👑.
In today’s time, finding a truly qualified Guru is first of all very difficult 😔, and second, forcing yourself to accept someone just because "you must have a Guru" feels wrong to me. There’s now a whole segment called "mentors," but even that requires extreme caution âš ī¸. It’s hard to tell when someone might be using you for business or personal gain đŸ’ŧ❓.
Therefore, it’s better to refrain from misusing or disrespecting the sacred word Guru — preserving its dignity is the right approach đŸ•‰ī¸đŸ”Ĩ.

In yoga, the Guru is the one who leads the disciple from darkness (ignorance) to light (knowledge) đŸŒ‘âžĄī¸đŸŒŸ
‘Gu’ means darkness, ‘Ru’ means remover — that’s the root of the word Guru. 🙏
For deep yogic practices, Kundalini awakening, removing deep mental impressions — a Guru is essential because scriptures say these cannot be fully achieved just by reading books or self-effort alone. 📖đŸšĢ
A true Guru doesn’t only teach; he transmits energy, removes doubts, and keeps you on the right path. đŸ”‹â“âžĄī¸đŸ›¤ī¸
How to choose a Guru?

Observe if his life reflects scriptures and tradition. 📜
Check if he is self-realized, desireless, simple, and compassionatpath.ī¸
Don’t decide based on sudden attraction or heavy promotion; watch long-term behavior & results. đŸ‘€âŗ

Why you should NOT accept just anyone as Guru? ❌
Wrong Guru can destroy your practice, create false beliefs, exploit you for money/power/sex 💰🔞
You lose precious life-time and risk going far away from the real spiritual path 😔🛑
