Post: Clinical Occupational Therapist (OT)-Full-time
β’ Number of Positions: 2 (Male & Female)
β’ Work: in the office (Dhaka)
β’ Organization Name: Lighten World
β’ Working Hours: Weekly 5 days (10 AM to 7 PM, Duty must include Friday and Saturday)
β’ Salary:70-80,000 per month
Eligibility:
β’ BSc in Occupational Therapy with completion of a 1-year internship from CRP.
β’ Master's in Occupational Therapy
Experience:
β’ Experience in working with children having neuro-developmental disorders will be highly preferable.
β’ Must training on Sensory Integration Therapy
β’ Fluent in English (Therapist must be able to communicate with an international Supervisor or a native English-Speaking Supervisor)
Responsivities:
Sensory processing:
β’ Assess and address sensory needs: Evaluate how an individual processes sensory input (like sound, touch, and movement) to reduce barriers to learning and daily activities.
β’ Develop a sensory diet: Create personalized plans with daily activities to help the individual stay regulated, focused, and feel "just right" throughout the day.
β’ Recommend adaptive equipment: Suggest tools like noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, or weighted blankets to help manage sensory input.
Motor and physical skills
β’ Improve fine motor skills: Work on skills needed for tasks like handwriting, buttoning, and using utensils.
β’ Enhance gross motor skills: Develop larger movements through activities like obstacle courses, jumping, or ball games to improve balance and coordination.
β’ Create sensory circuits: Design a series of activities that can be used to energize the body before learning or to help calm it down.
Daily living and self-care
β’ Teach life skills: Help develop independence with tasks like dressing, bathing, brushing teeth, and preparing meals.
β’ Support feeding: Assist with self-feeding skills and strategies to increase food variety for picky eaters.
Emotional and social development
β’ Develop emotional regulation skills: Teach strategies for managing and identifying intense emotions through techniques like role-playing and games.
β’ Improve social skills: Use activities such as role-playing and group games to help with social cues, communication, and participation in social activities.
Family and environmental support
β’ Provide family support: Offer coaching and education to families on how to support their loved one and carry out strategies at home.
β’ Liaise with other professionals: Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, and psychologists to ensure a consistent approach across different settings.
β’ Modify environments: Suggest changes to environments, like a classroom or home, to make them more supportive and less overwhelming.
β’ Treatment Planning: Based on the assessment, OTs develop and implement tailored therapy plans to address specific difficulties.
β’ Take Supervision: Must be taken regular Supervision per month from our international Supervisor where discuss work-related topics, provide support, and promote professional development. It involves guiding, instructing, and correcting, with the goal of improving outcomes for both the Therapist and the individuals or clients they serve.
β’ Therapy Delivery: OTs provide direct therapy to individuals, using evidence-based techniques and modalities to improve skills.
β’ Education and Counseling: OTs educate patients, their families, and caregivers about communication disorders, therapy techniques, and strategies for home practice.
β’ Record Keeping: OTs maintain detailed records of patient assessments, progress, and treatment plans.
β’ Professional Development: OTs stay updated with the latest research, techniques, and advancements in the field through continuing education.
β’ Material or tools Development: The therapist must develop tools or create materials related to Therapy activities by themselves.
