CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills conducted a two-day Live Surgery Workshop on Rhinoplasty and Facial Plastic Surgery. The workshop is aimed at training, discussing and sharing the latest advances and improved surgical techniques in the field of Nose Cosmetic Surgery, Functional aspects and Facial Plastic Surgery. The event was inaugurated by Shri. M. Venkaiah Naidu, Former Vice President of India.

Dr N Vishnu Swaroop Reddy, Clinical Director, Head of the ENT Department and Chief Consultant ENT and Facial Plastic Surgeon from CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills & HITEC City, said that this live surgical workshop, talks and panel discussions are focussed to train over 150 junior and senior ENT and Plastic Surgeons from all over India and abroad. It will also benefit to bring awareness among the ENT postgraduate students and practicing consultant ENT and Plastic Surgeons.

This workshop is first of its kind in Hyderabad, started the first workshop 10 years ago in July 2013 in association with FRCSIT (Facial Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery India Trust) which is an associated member of IFFPSS (International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies) of the developed world. Dr Vishnu Swaroop Reddy is the founder Executive Chairman of FRCSIT for 5 years and in the governing council now. These workshops are focused on procedures like correcting various nose cosmetic deformities, functional breathing problems, reconstruction of microtia and anotia means absent outer ears (Pinna) using rib cartilage and hearing restoration etc.

Dr. Prateek Bhatnagar, Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills, performed a successful Beating Heart Bypass Surgery for a 90-year-old patient.

This rare bypass surgery was done on the beating heart using Total Arterial Revascularisation (restoring blood flow to the heart) with no cuts made on the legs. The bypass operation was done without open-heart surgery, without any cuts on the heart, and without stopping the heart.

The patient is now discharged and enjoying the reassurance of a normal pumping heart. The patient’s son expressed his gratitude to Dr. Bhatnagar and team and all the supporting staff of CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills Hyderabad.
