Today, on World Soil Day, we spotlight this year’s theme: Healthy Soils for Healthy Cities. Because the strength of any city, its air, water and climate resilience, starts with the health of the soil beneath it.
In our sustainability journey, many of our initiatives, while designed for broader environmental impact, directly support soil health:
🌿 Safer inputs for safer ecosystems
Using 100% ZDHC MRSL–compliant chemicals and greener chemistry, we minimize the risk of contamination to land and water.
🌿 Water stewardship protects soil, too
Our Effluent Treatment Plant (130 m³/hr capacity) and Sewage Treatment Plants (30 m³/hr), along with Grey Water Treatment Plants (15 m³/hr), ensure domestic and industrial wastewater is responsibly treated and recycled.
🌿 Circularity eases pressure on urban land
Over 384 tons of textile waste were diverted for recycling this year through our innovation ecosystem. Paper waste and used lubricating oil are also recycled to conserve the environment. Through investments in sustainability-focused ventures like Ecovia, which transforms fabric waste into 100% compostable packaging that returns to the soil in 180 days, we’ve replaced over 87 tons of plastic and reduced over 483 tons of CO₂.
🌿 Green spaces are essential, not cosmetic
At our LEED Gold–certified Dekko Garments Limited facility, 30% of the area is dedicated to greenery. Facilities like Agami Fashions Limited and Agami Washing Limited maintain 15% green coverage, which strengthens soil quality and improves microclimates in densely industrialized zones.
Let’s strengthen city ecosystems by safeguarding the soil foundations that support cleaner air, safer water nand long-term climate stability.
