SAPLING (Sustainable Agriculture and Production Linked to Improve Nutrition Status, Resilience, and Gender Equality) is a five year program being implemented in five sub-districts of Bandarban District, located in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh. Communities in the CHT suffer from poverty, food insecurity and malnutrition. These issues are further expanded due to gender inequality, lack of opportunity for the youth, and inadequate government system. The SAPLING project approached applied food security implementers in Bangladesh-helping them to modify and adapt to the environment in CHT. The team of SAPLING will work closely with the local stakeholders and conduct formative research.
