(Hypervigilance)

Why does trauma stay in the body?
Trauma affects the nervous system. Even after the event is over, the body can stay stuck in “danger mode.” Healing involves teaching the body to feel safe again through grounding, breathwork, and trauma-focused therapy.

(Mindfulness helps break the anxiety cycle by bringing attention back to the present moment, reducing overthinking, and creating emotional steadiness.)

Mental Health During Crises: Why Access to Services is Crucial

This World Mental Health Day 2025, we highlight the theme: “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.”

When disaster strikes, the focus often turns to physical survival—but mental health care is equally essential. From trauma and loss to the stress of displacement, people in emergencies need access to psychological support and safe spaces to heal.

Let’s advocate for mental health to be recognized as a humanitarian priority—because recovery isn’t complete without mental well-being.
