ศูนย์พัฒนาชนบทแบบเบ็ดเสร็จสำหรับภูมิภาคเอเชียและแปซิฟิก (Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific: CIRDAP) ร่วมกับ Rural Education and Economic Development Society (REEDS องค์กรพัฒนาชนบทในปากีสถานเน้นการศึกษาและเศรษฐกิจ) ขอเชิญชวนนักนวัตกรรมเพื่อท้องถิ่น ผู้นำชุมชน วิสาหกิจเริ่มต้น (Startups) องค์กรพัฒนาเอกชน (NGOs) สถาบันการศึกษา ตลอดจนบุคคลทั่วไปในภูมิภาคเอเชียและแปซิฟิก เข้าร่วมเสนอผลงานและแนวคิดนวัตกรรมเพื่อการพัฒนาชนบท ที่สามารถสร้างผลกระทบเชิงบวกอย่างเป็นรูปธรรมและยั่งยืน

โครงการดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมแนวคิดและนวัตกรรมที่สามารถยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชนในพื้นที่ชนบท โดยเปิดรับผลงานในลักษณะดังต่อไปนี้

แนวทางแก้ไขปัญหาที่ใช้ต้นทุนต่ำแต่ก่อให้เกิดผลกระทบสูง (Low-cost, high-impact solutions) เพื่อรับมือกับความท้าทายในพื้นที่ชนบท

นวัตกรรมในด้านต่าง ๆ อาทิ การเกษตร การส่งเสริมอาชีพ การเตรียมความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ การสาธารณสุข การศึกษา การเชื่อมต่อและการเข้าถึงบริการ รวมถึงสาขาอื่น ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง

แนวคิดหรือผลงานที่มีศักยภาพในการขยายผล และสามารถเป็นต้นแบบหรือสร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงเชิงระบบในวงกว้าง

CIRDAP Knowledge Series 53: Webinar on Green Building Infrastructure in Rural Development

CIRDAP successfully organized a webinar on Green Building Infrastructure in Rural Development, on Thursday, 5 March 2026, as part of the CIRDAP Knowledge Series 2026.

The webinar was jointly organized in collaboration with the Non Aligned Movement Centre for South South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) and Universitas Gadjah Mada Indonesia.

The session featured two distinguished speakers from Universitas Gadjah Mada Indonesia. Dr. Rachmawan Budiarto, Manager of the Centre for Development of Smart and Green Building, and Dr. Sentagi Sesotya Utami, Director of the Centre for Development of Smart and Green Building, shared valuable insights on the role of green infrastructure in advancing sustainable rural development.

The speakers highlighted key principles of green building, including energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, environmentally responsible construction practices, and sustainable infrastructure planning for rural communities. The discussion also emphasized how green infrastructure can help address environmental risks associated with rural development, such as land degradation, deforestation, water pollution, and climate vulnerability.

Through practical experiences, case studies, and best practices, the webinar explored strategies for planning, implementing, and maintaining green infrastructure in rural areas. The session also identified important challenges and opportunities for scaling up green building initiatives to promote resilient and sustainable rural communities.

The webinar was attended by Dr. Ganga Dutta Acharya, Director Research of CIRDAP, along with experts and participants from CIRDAP Member Countries. The event concluded with an engaging interactive session, allowing participants to exchange ideas and discuss the potential of green building infrastructure in supporting sustainable rural development.

Strategic Synergy: FAO Special Representative Visits CIRDAP Headquarters

CIRDAP was honored to welcome Dr. Daniel Gustafson, Special Representative of the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Rome, to our Headquarters at Chameli House on 22nd February 2026.

Accompanied by Mr. Abu MD Basharat Ali, former Director and Special Advisor to the FAO Director-General, the delegation held a courtesy meeting with H.E. Dr. P. Chandra Shekara, Director General of CIRDAP.

The discussions focused on how CIRDAP and FAO can work more closely to respond to emerging rural development challenges and create new opportunities for collaboration across the Asia Pacific region.

During the visit, Dr. Gustafson visited CIRDAP Library and the CIRDAP International Conference Centre, appreciating the organisation’s efforts in promoting knowledge exchange and regional dialogue. He also signed the World Rural Development Day poster as a gesture of support for advancing global rural advocacy.

Key staff members, along with the Director Research, provided a comprehensive briefing on CIRDAP’s ongoing programme activities and research initiatives.
Dr. Gustafson’s insights on potential synergies highlight a shared vision for a resilient and sustainable future for rural communities across the Asia-Pacific region.
