It’s an automated system for creating blood smears and performing staining.
It produces consistent, high-quality slides for microscopic analysis.
These units automate the entire process from dispensing blood onto a slide to staining it, ensuring standardized and reproducible results by adjusting parameters like sample volume, speed, and spreader angle based on the blood's hematocrit (HCT) value. This reduces operator variability and improves diagnostic quality.

How many parameters you will get in 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗰𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲 from a Hematology analyzer?
𝗦𝘆𝘀𝗺𝗲𝘅 𝗫𝗡-𝟱𝟱𝟬 gives you 𝟭𝟰 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 from 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗰𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲 and all parameters have clinical benefits!

The 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗰𝘆𝘁𝗲 count reflects the erythropoietic activity of bone marrow and is thus useful in both diagnosing anemias and monitoring bone marrow response to therapy.

𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗰𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲:
1. RET #
2. RET%
3. IRF
4. LFR
5. MFR
6. HFR
7. RET-HE
8. DELTA-HE
9. HYPO-HE
10. HYPER-HE
11. RBC-HE
12. PLT-O
13. IPF #
14. IPF%

𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀:

𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗰𝘆𝘁𝗲 # & %: A reticulocyte count checks to see if your bone marrow is making the right amount of red blood cells when old ones die off. If you have too few, your tissues may not get enough oxygen. If you have too many, you could be at risk for blood clots or other health concerns. Reticulocyte counts also help differentiate between different types of anemia, specifically identifying whether the anemia is due to decreased red blood cell production (hypoproliferative) or increased red blood cell destruction or loss (hyperproliferative).

𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐲𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: It can distinguish between hypo-proliferative (e.g., anemia of chronic disease), ineffective (e.g., some megaloblastic anemias), and hemolytic anemias (e.g., sickle cell anemia). For example, in hemolytic anemias, where red blood cell destruction is increased, the IRF will be high, indicating the bone marrow is working to compensate.
In contrast, in anemia of chronic disease, the IRF may be low, reflecting a suppressed bone marrow response.
It can help assess the effectiveness of bone marrow recovery in patients with aplastic anemia. For example, in patients with acute leukemia, a rising IRF after chemotherapy can indicate that the bone marrow is starting to produce new red blood cells.

𝐇𝐅𝐑, 𝐌𝐅𝐑 & 𝐋𝐅𝐑: High-fluorescence reticulocytes (HFR), middle-fluorescence reticulocytes (MFR), and low-fluorescence reticulocytes (LFR) are subpopulations of reticulocytes, which are immature red blood cells, identified by flow cytometry based on their RNA content and fluorescence intensity. The increase in HFR and MFR can be an early indicator of iron deficiency, even before a significant drop in hemoglobin levels.
HFR: Represents the most immature reticulocytes, with the highest RNA content, and its increase indicates a heightened bone marrow response to anemia.
MFR: Represents immature reticulocytes, with moderate RNA content, and its increase also indicates increased erythropoiesis.
LFR: Represents more mature reticulocytes, with lower RNA content.

𝐑𝐄𝐓-𝐇𝐞: (Reticulocyte Hemoglobin Equivalent) is a valuable tool in assessing iron status and erythropoiesis. It offers several clinical benefits, including early detection of iron deficiency, monitoring response to iron therapy, and potentially guiding treatment decisions in various conditions like anemia of chronic disease and nephrological disorders.
RET-He is particularly useful in populations like pregnant women, patients with kidney disease, and those with anemia of chronic disease, where iron deficiency can be a significant concern.
Unlike serum ferritin, RET-He is not affected by inflammation or infection, making it a more reliable indicator of iron status in these situations.

𝐑𝐁𝐂-𝐇𝐞: If increase RBC-He than it causes for Polycythemia, higher risk of blood clots & if RBC-He decreases than it causes for Fatigue, Shortness of breath and thalassemia.

𝐇𝐘𝐏𝐎-𝐇𝐞 & 𝐇𝐘𝐏𝐄𝐑-𝐇𝐞: HYPO-He and HYPER-He are hematological parameters that can be used to diagnose and monitor iron deficiency and other erythropoietic disorders. HYPO-He, the percentage of red blood cells with low hemoglobin content, is particularly useful in identifying iron deficiency, even in its subclinical stages. HYPER-He, the percentage of red blood cells with high hemoglobin content, can be indicative of other conditions like spherocytosis or liver disease.

𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐓𝐀-𝐇𝐞: Delta-He, calculated as the difference between Ret-He and RBC-He.
Delta-He a novel marker of inflammation predicting mortality and ESA(Erythropoiesis Stimulating Agent) response in peritoneal dialysis patients. It also serves as a sensitive indicator of iron availability for red blood cell production.

𝗣𝗟𝗧-𝗢: PLT-Optical methods can minimize interference from small RBCs, RBC fragments, and other particles that can falsely elevate platelet counts in traditional impedance method. PLT-O, often utilizing fluorescent staining and the reticulocyte (RET) channel, excels in differentiating platelets from interfering particles like small red blood cells (RBCs) and cell debris. This leads to more accurate platelet counts, especially in cases of low platelet counts or suspected interference.

𝗜𝗣𝗙 # & 𝗜𝗣𝗙 %: The immature platelet fraction (IPF) is a valuable biomarker in hematology, offering clinical benefits in diagnosing and managing thrombocytopenia, monitoring thrombopoietic recovery, and assessing cardiovascular risk. It helps differentiate between various causes of low platelet counts and can guide treatment decisions related to platelet transfusions and antiplatelet therapies.
