⭕️RAMADAN: FAT LOSS & MUSCLE GAINS⭕️
-
Is it possible? Absolutely, as long as you’ll follow these rules.
-
FAT LOSS: if you want to lose bodyfat during ramadan, you need to be in a caloric deficit, just like any other individual on this planet. This means that from Iftar to Sifir, your calories eaten need to be lower than your TDEE, so that your body can access its internal energy stores (fat) and use it.
-
Keeping a high protein intake wil be crucial aswell, especially to maintain muscle mass: research shows that anywhere from 2 to 3g x kg of LBM (lean body mass) scaling upwards depending on leanness, will prevent muscle loss.
-
Combined to that, we obviously need to give the muscles the actual “stimulus” to stay, aka heavy lifting, hence the reason why liftig relatively heavy (75% + of your 1RMs) is recommended. You can cut volum up to 1/3 and still retain your muscles, but please lift heavy!
-
Lastly: drink ALOT of water. I understand, you probably won’t feel thirsty in such a small timeframe window but do your best to drink atleast 2-3L of water everyday, to compensate for the dehydration occurrig during the day.
-
MUSCLE GAINS: Same cues apply, but you need to be in a caloric surplusvto be able to build new tissue! This means more carbs & fats added to your protein intake.
-
Since there won’t be any muscle loss at this stage, you don’t need to keep protein too high (unless you want to) and you can keep it at a 2g x kg of BW safely.
-
Lift heavy. That’s the only way you’re going to know whether you’re gaining muscle or not.. are you actually getting stronger? If yes, then you’re doing things right.
-
Drink water. Just like I said above.
-
🔥🔥🔥TAG your buddy and let everybody make gains during the holy month of the Muslim calendar!
